Any NS'ers that know anything about accident insurance?

I was involved in a car accident in which i was in the back of a truck and it rolled and threw me 100 feet. I sustained a disgustingly broken collarbone, 30 staples on the top of my head, 24 stiches on my forehead, 2 bruised lungs, 4 fractured vertebrete, and contusions all over my head. Ended any chance of me skiing park ever again. Anyways, the insurance adjuster mentioned pain and suffering. Anyone know a ball park amount i will get for that?

In the back of a truck as in a pick-up truck bed or back-seat of a SUV without a seat-belt?

Pickup truck bed. The driver has already been found liable and the adjuster guarenteed some kind of pay out. Just curious as to how much it'll be.

Out of curiosity, where the passengers inside the truck wearing seatbelts? If so, how did they fare? Did they receive severe injuries as well?

I'd have to think that any insurance company would argue contributory negligence in that your own actions were the cause of the severity of the injuries, drastically limiting what you could receive. I'd think that they would have a VERY strong case as well.

No injuries, just hospital trips to double check. And ah i see. That makes sense. I guess i'll just have to hold out and see what happens.

15 years ago I had a friend who was sitting in the back seat of a car that was ripped in half in an accident. He was then thrown out of the car and in to a field. He sustained massive injuries that required hospitalization for a number of weeks. I think he ended up with about 40k in his pocket when it was all said and done.
