Any news of a new iPod?

Yeah so I'm probably gonna be picking up an 80gb iPod classic next week when I get my next paycheck but the thing that I keep thinking about thats pulling me away from the idea of getting one is the idea of them coming out with another iPod. The iPod classic has been out for almost half a year now and I absoloutely wanted to kill someone when they came out with the new generartion of nano's literally a week after i had just bought my first generation iPod. I would just hate to have to have that happen again. So before I buy one next week does anyone have news of another iPod or if this is a bad time to by an iPod so late into its release.

With iPods being released so quickley you never know...

just so you know, you wont be able to put any of your limewire or frostwire or whatever type of music you have, because all the new ipods have software downloaded on them that dont let you put any music on them unless it was bought from itunes, it sucks...

They came out with a 32gb Touch a couple weeks ago. I doubt they will be making any huge updates soon

are you sure....?
im pretty sure that isnt the case because i just bought a brand new macbook and it is made so the music downloaded from limewire goes dirently into itunes.
why would they do that then block the music? and my friends with the new touches dont have that problem

I get ALL my music off of Acquisition and there are no problems, its even made to integrate w/ itunes. I'm gonna have to go with a big NO on that statement. On a side note, why the hell can't you burn music you buy from iTunes on to a CD? Dumbest shit ever.

they probably haven't even started to design the next ones. It is usually like two years between releases. I cant imagine what the next generation of ipods will look like though

go to the buyers guide on macrumors.com, it tells you how long its been since a product update, and how long the average product cycle is.

i have that exact iPod, in all seriousness, don't get one. the latest iPod classic has been the most glitchy iPod to take, some songs skip, some songs dont play, sometimes you cant play songs in general and have to reboot the device.

and this is all 1 week out of the box, never dropping or hitting it.

the one thing thats all right is the battery life, but the battery life indicator seems to have a life of it's own, goes up and down as it pleases.

video compatability is laughable. unless you actually buy movies and tv shows off itunes currently, odds are you're not going to go through the trouble of downloading some third party software just to convert your movies over to the iPod format.

unless you actually have 60gigs or more music, get a Zen, a bit thicker, no glitches, plays almost every video format, just drag and drop through windows explorer.

Even if this is true (which it isn't because you can put limewire stuff on iPods) it won't be true soon enough...apple got sued recently for trying to create a monopoly by limiting people to itunes or illegal sources of music and then many subscription services (napster, rhapsody, ect) will be availible...This is stuff that I have heard and not confirmed so I am not positive about it but most people I've talked to about it heard the same thing...
