Just picked these 2 pairs for 25 bucks. mounted once, never ridden, sound like they were used as a background prop on some sort of advertising commercial. I thiiiiiink they might be folsoms? just trying to put some feelers out so I can have a better idea of mount point, drill size, etc.

very very rough dimensions are (measured with a tape measure)

170cm - 126/101/126 ish. feels quite stiff.

146cm 108/ 90ish/108

Really hard to tell - is there sidewall?

If not - is it possible they are custom community skis out of mammoth? Only sparkcell I can find is in San Diego. There’s a spark mobile in NZ but logo and colors are totally different

All cap construction. I bought them from the back of some old guy’s truck in mira Mesa San Diego.

So update:

Heard back from folsom skis, definitely NOT a custom job on their end.

They suggested that these are a 'white label' ski from one of the various chinese factories, which wouldn't really surprise me.

I'm just gonna mount them up and have my brother test them out- can't complain too much for a $12.50 ski on the 170cms

Contact spark cell if you really want to know

how's the flex? do they feel cheap? just curious

i'd be thrilled to try a $12.50 ski lol sounds perfect

The flex on the 170cm one is pretty stiff- feels like they have some metal underfoot. they don't feel too cheap, like they feel a lot nicer than the old CAP atomics (triplets) and Armadas that I've had experience with.

interesting! wouldn't've guessed that

I guess I'll find out for sure when i drill into them- just a bit more resistance than i would have expected.

that being said, the triplets I had experience with were CAP and foam core, and those foam cores would break down so so fast

the triplets were such a weird product haha

some of those promo skis are just totally fake foam core props. I'd be careful ripping on those.

I know it’s a different foam but Salomon did market ‘foam core’ Teneightys back in the day…

Yea those sucked too lol. But they’d last at least for a while before falling apart or breaking. Some Of these prop skis could probably break hand flexing, but you’d know it they were that bad before you skied them

when they were mounted… probably… depending on how competent the shop is.

Thread update- drilled one pair and mounted some old Rossi bindings on them.

they’re definitely wood core, metal underfoot where the bindings are mounted. Feel solid, but I won’t have any performance updates until next season.

in other news, clearing out the garage and found my folks old original pocket rockets. Pretty sure the foam cores are disintegrated, but I might center mount the 185’s for next season.
