Any future doctors?

I want to be a pediatrician or dentist, or orthodontist, but I'm not really sure at this point since its only my first year in college. I'm not even sure if i'm going to make it to med school. What sucks about college though is you have to decide what you want to do, and i really dont want to decide yet.

It only counts if you get a degree from a credited school and if the state will let you practice "kicking ass."

Oh excellent, because I plan on obtaining such a lovely certificate from the world renowned University of Whistler. I'm bound to make connections with the higher ups in BC politics, so I'm fairly certain I can open up a General Ass Kicking practice....

cool job, def not for me though., Im gonna be a pro skier, slacker ski bumb But an edumakated ski bum because im rockin out at sierra nevada college.

Othopedic would be sick but Anesthesiologist would be better. You get paid tONNNs and all you do is roll in there, knock out the patent, an go home. The nurses watch everything for you. Only problem is that if you fuck up, people die and its your ass.

I hope you guys realise how competitive and arduous it is to become a doctor; you don't just roll into med school. Also, if you decide half way through med school that being an MD is not your thing, then you just wasted like $300,000 or more.

whatever they make SOOOOO much money for doing so little. Maybe you could use that free time to ski er something.

my brother is in 2nd year of med school at stritch school of medicine @ loyola chicago...insain amount of studying/work...going in to become neurosurgeon...u can ask me any questions and i relay that off to him if you need any advice on applying somewheres, general concerns, etc..

SICK, I got a couple questions. What are the hours for residents? (or does it differ), how long did it take you to put in your first line properly? and...... Did he have to become a basic surgeon and then deal with the neuro part, or what?

Thanks dude, I appreciate it.

i wanted to be a pediatrician for a long time but now i think im heading towards pharmacy cause they make good money and less schooling..

both my parents are trauma surgeons and my older sister is a scientist for a medical company... im going to be a musician and a ski bum sorry mom and dad

I'm a Pre-med student here at the university of Pittsburgh. It's a lot of work, but I get through.

You can count on not skiing as much as you normally do though. Thats what sucks... I haven't been skiing yet. First time will be this friday.

NUrsing looks like a more ski-friendly job. You can work the hours to where youre working 12 hour shifts 3 days a week. That leaves you 4 days a week to ski if you want. Nurses dont have to be on call and shit all the time like doctors do.

And if you dont care about being rich, it pays plenty, $25 an hour is about average, but goes higher. Works out to about $50k a year. Hell if I was doing it, I'd just bum it and work 6 months a year and make $25k a year, as long as I didnt have a family to support. If youre a dude youll always be labled a male nurse though, haha.

both my parents are and were in the medical field... im interested in doing something with medicine but not sure what i wanna do... maybe cardiology

i started an internship at a dental practice back in february, then they hired me. i would lvoe to become an oral or cosmetic surgeon!!

eh i could never be a dentist or anything envolving the mouth, i have a pet peeve about teeth and people with yellow teeth, crooked teeth or bad breath.. so i deffinately couldnt do it

If you are a physician, the minimum amount of work you will do a week is 50 hours. Orthopaedics work up to 85. And I'm not lying. I've had 2 internships so far. You have to really love being a doctor.
