Any DIII lacrosse recruits? (especially NESCAC)

anyone going to a DIII school for lacrosse? particularly wondering if anyone is going to Tufts, Connecticut College, Middlebury, Bowdoin, or Trinity.
What was your GPA, would you have gotten in without lacrosse? How much did it impact admissions? When were you officially committed?

during my junior/senior years i was talking to some schools in NE and in some in the midwest. the midwest schools had weaker programs but were much more academically competitive. i didnt have too much trouble getting into those schools either but an official visit is recommended. get to know the coach and the team, and set up and interview with someone in admissions. the more face time you have with the coach and the team the more they'll be likely to pull for you, which should help your odds.
also for NESCAC school they'll prob be expecting a 1800 SAT and 3.3-3.5 for athletes(seems to be the standard for school of that caliber). just because your good doesn't mean theyre gonna take you.
in terms of scholarship money, dont expect too much. however those schools do have MASSIVE endowments, so they might be able to cover some expenses if you ask politely but im not too sure how that works.

i played soccer, not lacrosse, but maybe still applicable...

i looked at a lot of these schools and the recruiting/admissions process varied a lot between them. at middlebury the coach essentially told me that they don't talk to players until after they've been accepted, so athletics has no bearing on admissions (when you're that good, you don't need to recruit, the best players come to you). i know that this is not true for all sports there though, since some girl i know admittedly only got in because she played basketball. conn college on the other hand was on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. their coach hounded me like crazy and hooked up a pretty impressive academic scholarship offer to try and get me to come. colby was somewhere in between the two. in the end i ditched NESCAC and went to skidmore, but didn't commit to the coach until the week before the deadline. unless you're applying early decision somewhere, there's no need to feel pressured to commit any sooner.

my GPA and SAT are higher than you said were standard for NESCAC athletes so hopefully I will be well off at any of the schools on my list. I also have an extremely strong art portfolio which could possibly get me into a school even without lacrosse. anyways thanks again +K to everyone who responded, keep them coming
 
Colby is the best nescac school for skiing I would say with sugarloaf, sunday river, and saddleback all within 2 hours. I go there and ski just about every weekend at the loaf. also lacrosse at colby is pretty sweet, and the team is real chill. Theres a good deal of kids here that ski park too. definitely check it out

i am half being recruited to bowdoin for lax (im not getting a tip from the coach but he is putting in a word a admissions because he has already used his 4 tips), i have the grades and test scores, but im hoping the lax gives me an extra bump, but if you want to be recruited you want to be in touch with the coaches, like, if you haven't already sent them emails and your high light tape you gotta get on that
 
yeah im in touch already, and some of them saw me play as a rising sophmore (2 years ago. I traveled a lot with my team). I didnt play much this past summer though unfortunately cuz i was hurt. Im already signed up for NE 150, and elite 180 for next summer. so hopefully itll work out
 
then you got plenty of time, spend this year cleaning up in school and getting a good highlight tape together and you should be fine, the coaches wont talk to you much now because they are dealing with seniors like me. yeah you have time to get your act together, im just waiting to hear back from Bowdoin now
 
Yeah, NE 150 and elite 180 are great camps for NESCAC schools. I had played on a club team for a few years without getting many looks, but as soon as I got to those camps, coaches became a lot more interested in me. After 150, I was being recruited by Bowdoin, Tufts, and Kenyon. I am applying early to Bowdoin with the hep of the lax program. My advice to you is to keep your grades up. The coaches ask about your grades and test scores before they even consider lacrosse. Good luck with the process, and just have fun with it
 
I was recruited by Middlebury for lacrosse and football but ended up going to cortand state. ended up transferring tho. They say they can't give out scholarships for sports in d3 but they might become a little lenient with your application if they know you are planning on playing lacrosse.
 
st joes of maine has a shitty lacrosse team but if your good you'll start freshman year, oh and were an hour from Sunday river.
 
i play soccer at middlebury. I dunno about lax but its probably the same. You need to have the grades and extracurriculars to get in, but lax will help in terms of the coach putting in a word that will help you stand out in a massive group of applicants who all have 4.0s
 
It's mostly not a money issue (of course my parents would love as much scholarship money as they can get). But i sort of want it to help my applications. My brother is the lax prodigy so they are banking on him going DI haha
and JaphyRyder, that is where my art portfolio should come into play (along with lacrosse). and my relatively interesting and diverse background.
