Any business school majors at D.U. ?

I have business proposition. Please help me find someone. Could also be CU, but want someone that is relatively close.

OK so I have gotten some PMs on this, and the feedback is that, because I have been vague on the details, it comes across as kind of creepy.

Here are the details:

I am trying to open Huck and Splash www.huckandsplash.com . It will be the sickest splash pool facility ever built and it will be located right off of C-470. My latest business plan is over 75% finished and I already have people who are interested in investing in the concept and sponsors who have expressed interest. I have recently gotten some really great free publicity. Timing is perfect, and I just need to hammer it out and get something in front of investors. Once I have raised the $$, I could be up and running in a few months.

What I am ideally looking for is a partner in crime, so to speak. I have a family and realize that opening Huck and Splash will mean being married to it for awhile. I am looking for someone who could be my right hand, and would eventually be able to open facilities in other cities as we expand. I would settle for someone who could help me complete my business plan. That would involve kicking me in the ass on a regular basis to make sure that I put it at the top of the priority list, and checking to make sure that my plan makes financial sense.

Because this person will ideally be my partner in this business, I need to make sure that we mesh from a personality standpoint. I want to meet for coffee, show them the architectural drawings and discuss the uniqueness of the concept. If it seems like the chemistry is right, I would have this person start reviewing the business plan.

For a business major, this is a great opportunity to get some practical experience and get a cut of the profits. For a partner it offers the opportunity to earn a living where you never feel like you are actually going to work. PM me if you are interested or know someone who might be. The reason I am doing this through New Schoolers should be pretty obvious. I need someone who is passionate about what we do, and has a good mind for business.

Fuck.
This might be the first time I've been disappointed to leave for pilot training this summer. I'm a Civil Engineering major but I specialize in construction project management and have actually designed buildings that are being built now. I graduate in May. This would be right up my ally, and a ton of fun. I didn't realize you were so far along on this idea, I'm pulling for you!

Finance major at CU. Would love to help out, I'm just a bit worried on Denver's commitment to a project like this, and have too much on my plate as is. Growing up in Denver and being heavily involved in freestyle and later (around 2001-on) park, I'm worried about commitment of skiers. There are a lot of skiers that think they work hard, but wouldn't spend more than once a month tops at a water ramp place. The key is, you have to drag in a lot more involvement. PC's got olympic programs, Whistler, the summer camps- all probably helping to keep the ramps afloat. The toughest part of Denver is the fact that too many skiers 'claim' and don't get much done.

I really hope the project is a success, and you can bet I'd be one of the first in line for a session. Just be careful where you put your money (as I assume sponsors won't cover all the debt). PM me though-I'd be really interested in hearing more about whats going on.

sounds like a sick plan, if or when you need a solid account record keeping system we should talk. I could build you a web app deals with transactions, account records, and even keeps stats that riders could track online / compare with others.

Just throwin it out there, take it or leave it. My portfolio site is in my profile if you want to bookmark it for later.

Found your project's FB group, funny to find that a bunch of my friends had already joined. Appears like you have some good momentum. It would also seem that with summit county's preeminence in park riding a Denver water ramp could be hugely successful. Around DU the hype was huge for Woodward Copper, but its distance and the fact that most people buy the Colorado pass instead of the Rocky Mountain hindered its success a lot in my opinion.
Anyway, I'm a Junior International Business student at DU. I take business and Chinese classes mostly, but my real passion is entrepreneurship so I'm fucking fascinated with your project. I just released my own BlackBerry app and I'm looking to make a company out of mobile development. Check out my website at http://www.FourDonline.com
I would love to work on a startup to get a feel for things in a new company. If you decide to hit me back, email me at chris@fourdonline.com because I get way too many group mass messages (NS Spam?) here.

^^^^

Also, have you found a solid quote for insurance?

Are you looking for a partner to invest money in the business, invest their time until it is generating revenue, or will you be paying a salary before the facility is profitable?

Any additional information would be awesome.

Best of luck

I have a good insurance broker who found me a bunch of quotes. It's not really as tough or as expensive as you would think. Premiums will be around $15 k a year.

I am looking for partner to invest time initially until it is up and running. At that point, partners would receive salary and equity.

PM me or contact me through my website. Things are moving pretty fast now. I have a General Contractor and am meeting today with a guy who builds recreational water features.
