Any Biology Kids bored and wanna review my thesis?? I know you want to....

Basically my advisor is saying she is too busy to help me review my thesis....awesome. That what an advisor is for. Anyway, if any bio kids are bored and want to review it, let me know.

Obvisouly a strange request, but basically the more people who read it the better. Already have a few readers, but the more th merrier as long as you don't waste my time. If you do I will IP ban you and all your friends. No....really.

Right now I would only be sending you the first two chapters, working on the 3rd now. It is 39 pages, but, only 34 of those are text and the rest of figures. Next chapter is looking like it will be end of being 20-25 pages, with at least 2-3 pages of figures.

Just looking for people to add comment in the editing function in word so I can see the original draft and comments in the file. Just looking for comments on if it make sense, if some parts don't, etc. Don't worry about any grammer stuff as I will get that.

The thesis is on the locomotion energetics of ghost and fiddler crabs. Basically looks at how body size, body form, incline, and bearing a sexually selected ornament affect the aerobic metabolic rates of ghost and fiddler crabs at rest and during locomotion. That may mean nothing to 99% of you, but that is ok. I just am hoping to get a few more people to go through it before I begin editing it. This is a first draft, so it is probably a bit rough.

So yeah, if you wanna read it, let me know. I will see if there is some way I could hook you back up. ON3P stickers (when I get more), banning your least favorite member for a day, whatever. Sure we could work something out.

Guessing I will get very little help, but fuck it. May as well try.....
 
haha good luck. i wont even review my own thesis and its about skiing. Education can make anything boring
 
Not everyone needs to write a thesis. But I did nine months of research on this, so figured I may as well write it up. Actually hoping to get the 3 different studies published in the next year or two, so at least that will be sweet if we get them out and they are approved.

 
Would it be beneficial to have some sort of knowledge/interest in biology to effectivly review it? I Unfortunately, don't know the first thing..
 
Sure, if you are trying to understand the actually physiological mechanisms behind the research.

But anyone should be able to read it and understand it. Otherwise I didn't do a very good job on it.

It isn't like organic chem or something like that that is a bitch to understand. Just oxygen consumption.

As I said, right now it is about 2/3 done and 39 pages. 34 pages have text, and some of that text is giant letters for the title and then some of are not complete pages. Rest is figures or tables.

Right now it is just under 14,000 words.

As I said, I expect to add another 20+ pages, but that will not be done until the morning.

Here is a screenshort of the preview to give you an idea of what you are looking at. I currently also have everything broken up by chapter so that it is easier to go thru, so even if someone could go thru one of the chapters it would be sweet. Both have between 15-17 pages of text and the rest is figues.

Fuck I thought you might have used a smaller/less dense layout. I dont have enough paper here to print it all off but i would have read it since im looking at close to 10 hours of bus time in the next 2 days
 
messing with the spacing and margins I can get it down to 27 pages.

size 10 font then gets it down to 20 pages.
 
good luck i just finished my thesis this week and it was 51 pages. I have no more motivation for any kind of school work
 
I get slightly sick reading in a vehicle so making it smaller won't help much :P
 
yeah, me too.

if you want I can send you just one of the chapters. first one is 23 pages, second is 17 I think
 
And besides like you missed a comma or something like that from newschoolers youre probably gonna have to pay for real help, but theres alot of people online who for 10$ will give you a shitload of help.
 
not expected a ton, just basically want to know if people reading can make sense of it. I know most of what I am saying it it, it is just a matter of it I did a good job putting it on paper.
 
just a suggestion but if you live on campus, some colleges pay grad students to sit in the library and do things like read papers and such. Sorry if this wasnt the help you were looking for and id be more then glad to help if it wasnt finals/AP season. Maybe in a week or so though.
 
Red Bull is like a snack at this point. I am starting to worry that I am going to become immune to adderall at some point.

and this last chapter is moving slow. Only up to page 7 =(
 
Thursday evening is the absolute latest I could get anything, but ideally would love to get stuff done by tonight.

it is about 8:50 right now. I have another 3 hours to finish the 3rd chapter I suspect, so hopefully done with it and all the basic grammer stuff by 1. Then everything will be together.
