need to get my august ski day in. blaze mountain looks skiable still, but thats a haul of a hike and im pretty lazy. anyone know of anything? glacier still skiable? beartooths still holding snow? i heard people were still skiing up hyalite up to a couple weeks ago, but i cant imagine there is still much snow up there. any ideas? if i get august, it will be a solid year of skiing at least once a month...

i was in jewel in the begining of july and i still had to hike a little under a mile to the parkin lot. both sides had snow top to bottom so id say its a go for the win.

I drove over the beartooth highway today on my way Jackson and there was lots of fresh ski tracks on the ski area at twin lakes headwall. I would say you could easily get 300-400 feet of vertical in there. Rock Creek was completely melted out and there are a few other spots that I dont know the names of (I think one of them is called Gardner headwall); its on the left as you drive a mile or so past the ski area coming from Montana. Anyway it looked skiable and there are a few small snowfields around that looked like you could make a few turns or build a jump. I have tons of pics if you would like me to post some up.

I bet the Ribbon on Elephant Mountain will be skiable into September if you don't want to drive too far.

Yeah, go up the Blackmore trail and it'll be on your left about 3.5-4 miles up at the bottom of the bowl. You can see the line from a few spots toward the top of the road (just before the resevoir), it's a narrow NE facing couloir that cuts across the north side of Elephant.

No, I was with my mom on my way to Jackson Hole. I plan on coming down in two weeks. If you go this weekend you should let me know how it is.

I was planning on going down this weekend but now its looking like not. If anything I might go on a day hike up on the front with cappazoli.

sick man. Enjoy. You should roll to bozeman often this winter to shred with myself and p tice. I'll lend you a couch to stay on for free

well, got a few turns in down in the beartooths. now its just gotta start snowing in septemeber. which is usually seems to.

There were traces of new snow at the bottom of the bowl on Mt. Blackmore when we were biking there this evening. Sketchiest ride ever!
