Any advice for coming back off an injury?

I dislocated my knee When i was just warming up at a ramp session. I did it on a Shitty 360. i cant believe it, ive done about a thousand of these. But on this one a came around wrong and landed with all my weight on my right knee and out it popped. luckly it went straight back in again and the docs said i havent torn ligaments. The way i feel now is quite down, i was in massive pain when i did it and ive never hurt myself skiing like that before, to be honest its really dented my confidence. ANy advice on how to come back from this? and also has anyone sone a similar injury? how long did it take to heal and what kind of physio did you do?

About week before christmas in 2001 I over jumped a 360, broke my shin and calfbones and the shinbone came thgough my skin making a nasty little hole to my leg :P Well enough of that...last winter when I got to ski next time, I started with just cruising around and taking small jumps. All winter I did just a few big jumps and mainly just did something little jibbing. My advice is that start with the small ones and if your knee can handle them move up to bigger ones. Take it easy...you still have many many years left in skiing...I hope :)

 
Work out, stretch and get in really good shape during the summer.

If you didn't do that, you still have a month or so to get in better shape. Then do like Lukiz describes and just start small and work your way back up.

Getting injured is part of skiing. Don't choose to let it mess with your head. You get to decide how you feel. Decide to feel confident and you will be.

stretch, and excersize your ass off. ride mountain bikes alot, gets your legs strong and works with your balance. do wall squats.
