ANTs vs. Maden AKs

Maden's are waaay softer and have more sidecut.

Ant's are the opposite.

Do you want a stiff ski or soft ski? Do want something that you can use everywhere with a little more ease or something that you can straightline, and never see a speed you skis can't handle?

Vicious has skied the Made'n a lot and has been skiing the ANT this year, so either message him or wait from his reply.

Basicall, though, made'ns great everyday ski that can really do anything.

The ANTs are pretty nuts and wanna go straight and fast. Dont think they are a great everyday as they could punish if you get lazy.

but as I said, vicious will be able to give a good description of the two.

just got back from riding my madeN aks today in about 2 ft of fresh and all i've got to say is damn. they are really responsive in the deep stuff, but are kinda heavy, especially when you're cruising groomers. i dropped about a 20 fter today and i think the super flex in them helped me actually land it. and believe it or not they butter really good and i can actually ride switch in powder now since they are so fucking huge.

hey i see you live in CO. where did you go?, i was at vail today with my maidens skiing like 2 ft of pow and they are the best skis ever in powder, i was trying to see how easy it is for them to dive and you can lean super far forward like almost nose buttering in pow and they still float perfect, then i was doing that thingy where you lean forward then tuck and front flip in the snow and for awhile i had trouble getting them to go under. and i went straight through like an entire mogul run and it really wasnt that bad they are just tanks.

and with cliffs they are super stable on landings, and they ski awsome switch through pow. then i took them to the park, which had like a very small 10ish ft. table and i was doing 180's and 3's, and they are damn hard to spin, my buddy was doing 5's cause he is a fag and can spin super fast, and he has maidens too.

but they are super stable for the landings, and you can pull like anything off.

i love them they are the funnest skis ive ever had, id definaty get them.

Two completely different skis for different purposes.

The ANT is a fat, stiff, little sidecut ski made to, quote "point it and give'r". If you've paid any attention to how Boronowski rides, you'll know that's exactly what he does. It's long, it's fat, it has a tame amount of sidecut. It'll be easy to ski bigger lines in sketchier conditions with it, it'll do better at speed, and overall, it's just fucking gnarly.

The Maiden, also a great ski, is a little different. Tons of sidecut(comparatively), WAY softer, a little wider in the waist, definitely wider in the tip, it'll probably float you a little more, and will definitely be easier to ski. It's also a little better outside its natural environment of powder, and probably more fun in the park than the ANT, though Boronowski has no problems using his in the park when he so chooses. But then, you're not him, so ya.

Anyhow, you can't go wrong with either ski in regards to build quality, materials, etc, but you really have to ask yourself what you'd be doing with the skis. That's what it comes down to.

The Maiden is a ski that can be skied by the majority of agressive skiers. The ANT however, is very stiff and unless you are an extremely agressive skier or you are very large, it could potentially be difficult to ski. The ANT is definetly the much sicker ski though, and I do reccomend supporting Anthony.

i went to breck. i could only do 3s off of little kickers here and there because they are so fuking heavy. but i didn't get them for park so i can't really complain. i have PEs for that. i forgot to mention that even though they are soft, i could still straightline down from the top of tbar without any problems.

About the only thing these skis have in common is that they are wide and made mainly for powder.

The Made'n is a sick ski. Super floaty and fun in the pow. Very soft and forgiving, yet stable enough to rip pretty hard. I found the Made'n to be much more versatile than I first expected. In fact, for a while last season, I was skiing a 179 Made'n as a park/everyday ski and a 189 for pow. The sidecut allows easy turning and maneuvering.

The ANT on the other hand is a straight, stiff beast. Don't get me wrong, the more I ski mine, the more I love them. After getting used to the ANTs, I don't think I'll ever go back to the soft pow sticks. They are SUPER stable and you can pretty much run over anything in your path. However, don't plan on turning these things too much. They will turn, but it's not effortless by any means...they turn much better at speed. Not ideal for groom...the ANTS are built for pow and busting crud when needed.

My suggestion: If you already have an everyday ski and have the opportnity to ski steep fast pow often, get the ANTs. If you need a more versatile, but still sick, pow ski, get the Made'ns. I also wouldn't get the ANTs if you are smaller as they will ski you.

"What would you get? I personally like the look of the ANTS but i havent skied either... Nick"

Yeah man, truely only buy skis on how they look, thats key. WTF

True. If he's basing his choice on which pair look cooler, better stick to the Made'ns as they are a bit more forgiving.

On second thought, just get the ANTs and see how things work out.

You see all i had to go on was the looks of them up untill people started to post. Did you have anything insightfull to say??? Nick

Cheers guys thanx for the posts i've been swayed in the direction of the madens due to the fact that i want to do some tighter turnier stuff. Although the ANTs would be sick. Cheers, Nick
