shitloads of people are sayin that antiflag has publicly said they dont believe in their music, the only say wat will sell record. Fukin admitin their sellout. I have lost so much respect for them from this...but is it true? anyone wanna confirm that or wat?

I used to love Anti-Flag, but I really don't like them at all anymore. But I must admit I would do Justin Sane in a second.

I wasn't a huge fan until I saw them live. They opened for Millencolin and the whole crowd was moving within about 10 seconds - incredible. And yet again, fuck the whole 'sell out' shit. They sound good, so I like them.

 
i used to really like them, but now i dont listen to them at all. i do really like Justin Sane's solo stuff. it's really good

if they really wanted to be sellouts they would have a similar sound to Good Charlott and they cirtanly wouldn't have such a strong 'radical' message to there songs. remember, in popular music the meaning is dummed dowen so 'everyone' will like it. All the meaning is lost ind it becomes bland and boaring. (rap isn't that way but when it comes to rap people want to act all tough and listen about hate and shit like that. now there are punk bands that act all tough and shit but Anti-Flag cirtanly isn't one of the them; if you don't belive me, just go to there web site.

mabey they are, but it is just to get the message out. you go to one of their concerts and there is like 5 bands that open for them and it only costs $14! I wouldnñt say that is selling out at all!

Yeah just ppl were telling me they admitted to not believeing in their music. I love anti-flag, just IF this rumour was true my respect would have certainly gone with them...down the shitter. but its good to know these were false facts given to me by the pppl at some show.

i do listen to afi and bob marley. ther both good, but i think antiflag has the best guitar riffs and bass riffs of the three. and also, ther music is alot more moving then afis.

I recently started listening to Anti-Flag and Stars and Stripes has been stuck in my head ever since. What a good song! Anti-flag is like the Casualties except with good singing (and i say that loosely, so no fucking flaming!)!

the following relates to political punk bands and a lot of other punk bands - not all of them though:

whether or not its true, its the common progression of punks. dude, punk politics are wild and regardless of what my own politics are, i support young kids interest in how the economy, foreign policy, congress is run. but how can you formulate your opinions about the country when you don't pay taxes, don't pay for medicare, don't live among the responsibilites that 'grownups' live with. you write ideas about anarchy and rebellion, then you grow up and mature, and you realize that much of your genre is a load of crap, but you're making hella money so you keep doing it. thats why a lot of bands either sell out or disband. punk is an awesome form of music, but you have to realize that it is fueled by issues of adolescents (dope band though - adolescents). and if you think i'm talking jibberish, you obviously haven't opened up the liner notes of anti flags albums and read the lyrics. check their first album, its the best.

Anti-flag is awesome. not matter how popular they get they are still cool with the fans. i mean ive seen then 8 times and pat, the drummer, remembers me and calls me by name. and they just jump of stage and talk with everyone. not very many bands that are 'sell outs' and get big will do that. anti-flag puts on a kickass show.
