Anti- Gravity Grail vs. East Coast Open

Which do you think will be bigger/ better competition/ more fun? I'm going to the grail either way but i was just wondering if it's ganna be as big as it has been in the past or not cause some flippin idiot scheduled both events the same weekend (march 5-6)

i'm assuming EC Open will be bigger since there's more events and more publicity

i was angry when i heard they were both at the same time, cause i'm headed to EC, but hopefully i can somehow go to the grail too

I am competing in the East Coast Open slopstyle on friday and the East coast open pipe and rail jam on Saturday. I am not sure what chance i have but you never know. Okemo's pipe is so much better than Mt. Snow I just can't pass it up. I think I will compete in the big air at Mt. Snow on Sunday. Are snowboarders and skiers judged in the same category at teh Anti-gravity grail? Is it only a $5,000 purse for the whole weekend? That is not very good considering the East Coast Freeskiing open is $25,000.

 
East Coast Open will be the event of the future on the East Coast. Tons of industry people on site as well. I know of at least two people that walked away with sponsorships last year.

kind of off topic a little, but VT open was waaay sicker last year, but now that EC open has slopestyle and rail jam, it has the potential to be super sick

im ganna be exahusted from my 6+hour flight and then we have to drive up to vermont another 4 hours... and my parents have a place at mt snow so it makes it that much easier, just dont see driving another 2 hours to okemo a possibility...

it sucks that both superpipes and rail jams are at the same time.. so u couldnt hit both mt snow and okemo

slope venue is done... solid.

first table hit - two take offs - 35 - 45ft.

second table 45ft.

then the rail garden - three sets of two rails

set 1 - flat double barrel down rail or flat down double barrel

set 2 - battle ship/aframe box or straight down fun box

set 3 - down flat down bar or S rail

then, big ass swing set rail

then a straight forward 35 ft table

then a bigger 55ft table

finally, the wall quarter ride

Pipe is the best its been in a good long while...

registration and practice tomorrow.

 
wow that sounds like fun! 35 ft jump seems weak though, other then that seems like it's easy to throw down in

fuck i can tdo it because i cracked my heel....thats the best comp ever the east coast open. almost as good as vt open
