Anthony Boronowski leaves armada for surface

you could see it coming. but i like the fact ANT is reppin surface now. he fits in very well. so good news
 
maybe its cause Armada isnt really a core company.. its just a lie..

the guy who owns it or the majority of it is a rich investment banker from england that lives in Verbier..

And they Droped Julien.. whos one of my FAv skiers..

I think it's sick. he definitely fits good there and surface is such a sick company.
 
screw armada... ive been a huge supporter my whole like but now with the recent news of julian and now anthony, they can claim to be a core company all they want. They are not close to even caring about their riders and are similar to how rossi and salomon treated their riders back in they day that caused the creation of Armada.. Good for Ant to keep finding new sponsors and continuing to be the man
 
Where does Armada claim to be a "core company". And how exactly does being a core company entail keeping on riders that dont perform?

So what your saying is that because Julien and Anthony were some of the first riders Armada had they should keep paying them and keep them on for the rest of there life? Are you fucking kidding me? Why would Armada keep them on, they stopped progressing their skiing like 5 years ago. I think that they should have been dropped 3 years ago. If anything Armada kept them on past when they should have and gave them that grace period because of what they have done for skiing and because they were some of the first riders.

Armada has given them more than enough grace time and to call out Armada for dropping them or saying screw Armada makes you sounds like a fucking moron.
 
right. another example. Tanner hall, you think they are going to keep him on the team if he doesnt do anything and has like 3 clips in a movie. Or if JP stops shredding the fuck out of big mountain and producing results in mags or movies. They will part ways as well and everyone will be up in arms then.

 
My man, please ensure yourself that Anthony was not dropped. He can run a kit on an company up and down this industry, Surface, good people, good team, good skis. Congratulations T. Big move, All the best.
 
I am going to put it out there; armada has some of the best skis on the market and have for a while.

That is what i look for in a ski company, not who rides for them. No hate for surface, ANT, or armada
 
Solid move for Tony. It just makes sense. He fits their style so well, can't say this change surprises me at all actually.
And for those arguing about how legit Armada is/isn't, I don't think any of us has enough info to make an opinion. When did they say they dropped him? He might have just moved because he wanted to and liked what Surface was doing.
 
your dumb you clearly know nothing tony b is a sick skier and has a pro model he was not dropped and never should be i dont think anyone knows exactly what happened with julien but he helped design alot of the skis and is a very talented skier and what your saying sounds like its a pro sports team and when armada was formed they said they were a core company think before you speak
 
you would have to be an ignorant fool to think that ANT hasn't progressed in the last three years. that dude is one of the guys that up and comers try and model themselves after. the dude is a legend. if you were here with me now talking that shit i'd slap you silly.
 
thats what more people should be thinking. theres a balance and the company needs to respect their riders but the skis they make are what its all about.
 
Not only did anthony switch to surface for riding, but the joystick brand has also been moved. So basicaly surface now owns joystick also. Supposedly anthony wanted some help expanding the brand and since he is also an athlete help was needed.

Loving all of it. Surface is doing shit right, and the people behind it are great great guys.
 
i used to really like watching him ski... like in X=ten his part was awesome (my favorite of the movie by far) , and of course his 1242 part with the styx song was dope as well. After that seemed like he didn't give a fuck about anything and didn't really produce anything remarkable or memorable. Frankly I'm surprised armada didn't drop his ass like 3 years ago, or at least pull the ANT off the line, bet that thing sold less than 100 units a year.

 
Have you seen either Julien or Anthony ski ever?The point of being sponsored is to sell skis, and Anthony definitely does that for them. He did after all win that redbull big mountain contest last year as well as putting up segments in some of the biggest movies of the year. Anyway, I'm pretty sure Armada didn't fire Anthony, as he is still on their website, from what I understand, Either his contract is up, (which happens to everyone whose sponsored), or he just decided that he wants something new and that this will be his last year with Armada. (which also happens. a lot.) Plus most of the Joystick team is already on surface, (just go watch hot lunch) so it seems like he's already more on board with them. The guy kills it and so does Julien.
 
Tony is the fucking man, he is a crazy good skier and a sick dude all around and oh yeah hes been killing since ive been watching ski videos wich a hell of alot longer than most brats on here, so word up to Tony for making a move everyone saw coming, Im glad it finnaly happened. PS armadas are garbage. /// all day.

when ever someone changes company why does everyone always presume they were dropped? people do leave ski companies out of there own choice you know.
 
This thread is quite funny ! Independantly to what has happen to Anthony B. dropped/ or left, it is pretty obvious that Armada needs to renew his team from time to time and therefore needs to drop or see some of its older riders go. This does not mean ARMADA is a shit company. Everyone here owns a lot to ARMADA and everyone that took part in the making of the company, which had been shaping the face of freeskiing for a while now !
As for Anthony B, is one of the sickest skier outtathere, and surely one of the most interesting. He is defo gonna fit well with the Surface guys, and am sure this move is gonna bring some sick new stuff from Surface and everybody should be stocked on that !
 
superrrrr stoked on this, i love what surface is doing. They should make the New Life his promodel. I think its somewhat similar to the ANT
