Anthems vs. Invaders

I assume that the Anthem is slightly heavier because its about a cm wider. Does anyone know the actual weights of these skis? The Anthem seems like it would alos do better outside the park too. WOuld it?

yeah it will, wider with stiffer flex pattern. not sure if it will do "well," but will do better than the invaders

its not any stiffer, its an invader w/ 10 mm added on the tip waist and tail, it skis very similar...on steeper groomed runs getting an edge was a bit harder

im pretty sure the anthem is the exact same ski as the invader except wider so if you want extra stability in the park while sacrificing some extra weight go for the anthems

how wide will the chronic blends be, seeing as how the chronics are thinner than the invaders?

HAHAHAHAHAH!!!! Whoever says the anthems will be "versatile" is wrong!

It's all park...wider = stability for some people on rails.

They will SUCK in powder. Have fun sinking and making shitty turns.

dude you suck at skiing then, my invaders floated amazingly well anywhere i took them, i guess its obvioiusly gotta be the skier than huh

Hm. Maybe I just don't ski center-mounted well. Or how butter zones aren't designed for turning. Or how any of line's park skiing is designed for any powder skiing at all.

Where do you live? They will not float in AK-type powder, or heavy stuff like on the west coast.

you ignorant dude..and obviously can't ski. Sucks you gotta deal with heavy snow, but here in CO we don't have that problem sucka! My invaders and everyone else's I knew were great skis all over the mountain. A little soft for pow... BUT ABILITY OVERCOMES EQUIPMENT. The bump up in waist dimension will make this ski fricken sweet everywhere and for AK pow and UT pow.. well, thats why I will have bacons.

yeah...I guess.

I will have to get used to it. I used to race and stuff so I'm pretty sure I could master the center-mount but I just don't want to.

I WISH I LIVED IN COLORADO OR UTAH!!!

you probably really suck if you're talking about how fun a center mounted park ski is in the powder. go slide some boxes and hit some 20 foot tables.

You're from ohio.. I doubt you know anything about powder. I said specifically..that they are a little soft for powder..but they are still fun. The soft tail keeps your tips up..if you didn't know that, then you've never done it. So shut your mouth. On deep days I bring out prophets or arv's.

You always talk shit.. but never have a well founded arguement or reason. get out of here.

1st: i'd say that i could outski you, but it's the internet and that wouldn't do any good. all i'm gonna say is don't stereotype regions. you should know better than that.

2nd: i very rarely talk shit, i save it for instances like this one where it's obvious you don't know what you're talking about. i've skied the invaders and anthems in powder. the tips dove and the flex pattern was shit. i skied the same run on the same day on msps and the vicious and couldn't believe the difference.

haha oscar remember that day me you and chris all had invaders in like 2 ft of powder at keystone? sick day was it not?

^ definitely. and snowtrails... Do you own invaders? or did you demo them for a run or two? Cause the first time I skied them I also thought they were shit. But now I love them.

no i don't own a pair, and yes i only skied them for a few runs at test fest. i just didn't dig the feel of the true center mount and how soft they were. i felt like i was constantly over powering the ski. in my opinion, something with some more backbone is a much better choice. i couldn't see myself hitting big jumps or skiing anything off piste with skis that floppy.

I used to feel the same. But after skiing a ski that allows you to feel everything that is going on..i can't go back. Thats why I am selling the ARV's..I gotta have flex.. close to center..and I'm lovin the symmetrical sidecut.

everything else aside, ill probably get the anthems b/c they will be good for park, and since my invaders floated pretty well in EC pow, they will probably do better.

what i ddont get is why everyboddy is saying i dont want to get used to a center mountedd ski. it shouldnt take getting used to because thats also the recommended spot. i havent skied them though so i wouldnt really know, its just what i am assuming

the anthem is the invader, with a 10mm wider waist at 93mm - i have also heard the flex pattern is a little stiffer, but not sure. still has the butter zone and all invader technology

man, I wish that the anthem topsheet could be on the invader, it so damn sick but I don't really want a "fat ski"

Centermount sucks for anything but park. there's no need to get used to ski a centermounted ski when you'll ski worse than with a ski mounted further back.

not really, have u even ridden a center mounted ski before?

they work fine all mountain it is just awkward for the first maybe hour or 2 and then they are just fine i have skied waist deep on my center mounted 78 cm waist skis, and they were fine for charging.

sure they worked, but the experience could have been alot better if you were on wider, properly mounted skis.

Ok. Here's what I posted on another thread:

the anthems/invaders are too soft for pow...

the izzys are not symetrical and do not have butter zones.

You could ski them in pow, but they would flex so much and would not work in heavy shit.why do you think pollard doesn't have 140mm underfoot anthems? He rides a stiffer/widerr version of the lizzies and he's prototyping the SFB.

Soft = not good in heavy, or deep BC. Or BC in general.

I wasnt saying the lizzies are bad in powder.

I was saying the anthems are even softer than the lizzies, which are pretty soft already. Read my post, please.

and pollard uses a wider/stiffer version of the lizzies in his movies. Or the prophets.

im 5'8" 160 lbs skied a 178 invader this year. wut size anthem should i get 171 or 178? due to the wideness of the ski im not sure wut to get

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS HOW WIDE THEY R I HAD 2 PAIRS OF INVADERS THEN I SIGNED WITH THEM AND GOT ANTHEMS NOT STIFFER OR ANYTHING JUST WIDER AND THEIR SICK AND THEY SEEM TO BE HOLDING UP ALOT BETTER THEN THE INVADER
