Anthems V. Invaders

I ski 90% park and 10% trees
I am 5 "8" and 130 lbs.
Which ski is right for me?

(please don't suggest other skis)

the main difference is the width and flex

anthems are softer and wider

making for better butters, rails

and they will keep you up in powder

the invaders are your average park ski, but it will be a chore to ski pow

i would go with the anthems for sure

can't go wrong

the anthems even moreso.

cap construction, poorly and cheaply made skis so parents of 14 year olds will be willing to buy them.. save up 30 bucks and spend it on a ski that wont look like shit, or delam after 29 days.

I'd say invaders. Just because you're skiing trees doesnt mean it's chest deep (does it?). Save the money and buy invaders, that's what i would do.

i disagree dude. never had a problem with my pair and though they were an awesome ski, not just for park but for all mountain rippin too. they were super light, held a great edge and didnt seem that noodley to me even at 180lbs, they even felt stable at high speeds. i thought think they are a super fun ski and would totally recommend them.

they both suck. become lifeless very quickly. anthems are heavy, invaders cant do shit 'cept rails and small jumps.

invaders are the most fun you will ever have on ski's until you hit jumps over like 40ft. then you will wish you had something more stiff, but for rails smaller jumps and just messing/buttering around, invaders are soooooooooooooooo much fun, you will constantly be smiling.

i skiied anthems too and i will say they are noticibly stiffer, they are also a little heavier too, but they would probably be way better for jumps. if i were you id get invaders, for 300, or even last years for like 200, and then buy some stiffer skis for jumps. thats what im doing, ill use invaders for days when im not gonna hit lots of jumps, and something stiffer for days when i know im gonna be hitting jumps alot.

dont talk about shit you dont know. maybe its your oinion that they suck, but they are a great ski.maybe you had a little bad experience with them and know you have to bitch to the world about it, or maybe your a douche in general. who knows. but remember its all about opinions bro

im surprised you didnt recommend a pair of boones. the invaders and anthem are both good skis, invaders are so much fun. and you are light so they wont be washing out like they are on guys who are 180+. my invaders haven't delamed and i got a pair of chronics for everyday skiing and use my invaders for fooling around. i skied the invaders in like 2 feet of powder. it may be hard but it is still fun. just lean back a little and go as fast as you can to float above it

To back up my hate on anthems and invaders: forgive me if i was harsh.

they arent nearly as bad as i said, saying that they delam in 29 days or whatever.. blah blah (i was frustrated at shit at the moment, and taking my frustrations out on the world)

Thing is.. I weigh like 130lbs.. and the anthems felt like skiing on paper to me.. (i fucked around on a pair of anthems for about 8 days in March last season in a few different conditions) They just felt dead when taking off on jumps, and trying to olly, etc. They seemed to be pretty darn unstable at high speeds, and they tended to wash out in cruddy late season corn conditions here in tahoe.. I guess I was just unimpressed.

buy them if you wish, but remember, you're getting what you pay for...

true that. i just dislike the invaders and anthems (all the other skis line makes are pretty good though, especially the SFB's and the chronics)

ok dude thats a lot more respectable then just bitching with no said reason. still, thats just your opinion so make sure you dont fuck with peoples decisions by a few bad exeriences

point heard. but if you had to choose, invaders or anthems? maybe in your opinion they both suck, but which one sucks less?

haha typical ns bullshit. they ARE cheaply made(hence the price tag), they ARE cap construction, and they ARE shit on big jumps. trust me. i rode them all year on freeway at breck, because i couldn't afford a better ski. it turns you into a ninja because you wash out so easily with their awkward ass hinging flex pattern. sooo it turns out sean DID know what he was talkinga bout.

its NOT all about opinions. things like STYLE are opinion-based. the FACTS are that everyone breaks invaders. just the way it works. they delam, edges crack, they snap, the bindings rip out, etc.

to the thread creator, all else aside, they are really good fuck-around skis. easy, consistent(if somewhat unnatural) flex patterns. for you, i'd say anthems just because invaders are shit. and also because they hang better outside the park and hold up ok on bigger jumps but not great anyways...

damn im bored.

is there anythng wrong with being ninja?and skiing breck i cans ee why you say that, the mountain really matters.or atleast the park

in ride invaders, there incredibly light and reallly soft. for park i find em great, trees there ok sept rlly long cus theyd butter out on landins if they wer shorted bein so soft. long skis not so good for tight turns in the trees

i think it was Oscar Scherlin(sp?), correct me if i am wrong, who was skiing them in the xgames slopestyle and he was stomping 65 footers no problem

it was tomas dolplads that was riding them.
and as for the invaders v. anthems, i rode the anthems last year, and I couldn't stand them. So if you're set on line then invaders i guess, but just my opinion.
