Anthems or Fujas

So i've narrowed down my selection of skis to The line anthems and the K2 kung fujas. Park skis that do well all over and hendle well in powder. Not sure between which one but I am 6'4 so yeah

if you're planning on skiing pow i'd go fujas because it's not symetrical and is gonna give you a better ride in pow as there is more ski in front of you. Go anthems in youre looking at like 75 park, 25 pow and if you like a symetrical ski.

Anthems suck all mountain(and in park). Fujas are soft enough throughout that you can make smooth long butters(butters are the only thing anthems do ok at, and not that well), and wider than Anthems so butters will be more stable. On jumps Fujas will do better too, they were made so that they can carve(anthems were not, and don't carve well). Fujas will do better in pow. Fujas IMO will feel more playfull and are much much more fun everywhere. Get fujas 179(185ish), mount about -2(if you are doing alot of park that is still fine) with Tyrolia Peak 15/18(win) or Solly STH 16s, S912s/14s/16s(if you are big), or 914 labs.

what year Fujas are you going to get? I wonder how 2010s will compare to 09s

Anthems are not really meant for pow at all. They are meant for park, but the width is good for all around. You won't die on a pow day but you'll probably be wishing for something else.
Kung fujas (especially with the little bit of rocker this year) seem to be all mountain skis that do well in park and pow. Wide enough and rockered enough to be really fun in the soft stuff. They aren't symmetrical though so they won't be near as good as Anthems in the park. Haven't heard much about them in park to be honest.

Yeah elizabeths are sweet except for how small they are. Kinda what i was looking for. Anthems arent noodles but i can see where the center mounting would effect the performance. But i live in south dakota which may as well be the east coast. Last years Fujas is what i'm looking at.

Yeah it's not like a 172 noodle is gonna hold somebody back skiing all mountain that is 6'4" or anything.

and 09 Fujas are what I liked, 2010s look fun too and the shape is something new(when not de-cambered, it appears to have no rocker, and when it is de-cambered, the rocker comes out, at least I think that is how it went..).

get the new fujas they have a small amount of rocker that wont throw you off in the park and will help in the pow

man you really hate anthems. and while i love mine...

i agree, fujas. comes in a longer length (and depending on ur weight id say its prob a good idea) but this is one of my favorite skis this yea. the slight rocker make the ski just a hair looser and more playful, and its still sooo soft and smooth. plus i have this thing for vertical sidewalls..

dude ever heard of an eliptical sidecut? the anthem was meant to carve into jumps with its deep sidecut and throw you into perfect cork. and seriously stop sipping haterade a ton of people love anthems. they may not be right for this person but a lot of people like them.

sounds like a gimmick. aren't most side cuts somewhat elliptical?

right up there with edge armor in my book.

Whats the stiffness as compared to the elizabeths on the fujas? And why does everyone hate the anthems??

I do..but the quoted comment was about lizzies. They may be fun in the park for most people, but a 172(mounted forward) noodle is not going to cut it as an enjoyable all mountain ski for anybody that's not small. I do love longer skis for all mountain and pow though(Just sold my 194s, getting 192 customs and have 189s)

I have both, both are really good skis, I havnt spent much time on the anthems but I still really liked them all mountain. Much lighter than the k2s and having them centre mounted is easier too spin. I have my Fujas mounted at 2.5 back but I kinda wished i got them centre mounted.

The Fujas are really nice in the park, im not that good so I cant say wether it makes that much of a difference but I really like how solid they felt both on boxes and rails and landing jumps. As an all mountain ski they are sick.

Unless you are going to have the anthems as pure park skis that you can dick about with all mountain id go with the fujas and mount them centre. ( I might take the STH 14s and mount them at centre on the fujas this year and get rid of the anthems but still unsure, as the STH12s I have on the fujas dont hold anywhere near as much as the 14s).

Only negatives to the fujas are they are pretty heavy compared but then they are about 184 compared to 178 and sidewall. They are not that much stiffer than the anthems but still noticeable. The only time i had problems was when I skied the back bowls at lake louise and the conditions were shite, total ice frontside, and like crunchy windblown crap on the back and were too soft to hold. Otherwise totally sick ski.

I would think the better option for you is the Fujas and I dont think you would regret it. Also this years look so sick and the tiny bit of rocker would only enhance whats allready good about the ski. Also if you get them with the schizo thing that would be sweet as I would love the opition to move it back from centre for a bit of extra all mountain some times.

i have anthems they r super good in the park and not to skinny so if you wanna ski pow its not too bad

STH 12 and STH 14 are the same binding with slightly different spring. They both have Z toes so both will be pre realease happy. If you want a Salomon that is super light that won't pre release, 914 labs are the choice. STH 16s are labs with slightly stronger spring if you need it/find them cheaper. The other good solly bindings are the older(ish) S912s/S914s, which have more metal than 914 labs with similar constrcution. Just a bit heavier and less chance of problems(but problems on the labs are rare). S916s are also good, but they are pure steel and weigh 6.5lbs a pair. PM me if you have any questions about them or need to get some at a good price.

So the kung fujas would be the best choice. Probably going with them but the sir francis bacons also look bad ass

If you plan on skiing quite a bit of pow with these as welll as park, get the Kung Fujas. the mini rocker will help lots in the powder. If you plan on skiing more park, get the anthems, as they are designed for park.

Go for the Fujas for sure, you'll thank yourself when theyre rockered out from heavy landings half way through the season, Fujas will hold better and an overall better all mountain ski.
Marker Schizos for bindings for sure, the Fujas have the inserts for them already and you choose your stance for what terrain your riding, and they look fucking badass

Well its going to be shitty snow about 70% of the time no matter what i do but i'll do like 50% park 25% mountain and like 25% (if i'm lucky) pow. South Dakota sucks but kinda looking into traveling to like jackson hole and aspen

Dude, chill out on hating Anthems.. have you ever ridden a pair? They

are one of the most fun park skis I've ever ridden, second to my

Pipecleaners. They kill the park, butter like nothing, jumps are no

problem but i've never hit anything over 50 ft with Anthems. Also, they

have an elliptical sidecut like somebody said, which is fucking sweet.

They carve like nobody's business, I was in an advanced/expert class on

some Minnesota ice with them, my instructor was amazed at how well I

could carve on them and they barely had edges.

In this case I would def pick the Fujas over Anthems because of your

size. Fujas come in a 189 while Anthems only come in a 178 as their

biggest size. Plus, core center is right at true center with a

bi-directional sidecut and almost symmetrical dimensions. Oh, and they

have 5/30 tip and tail rocker :)
