whats up with the two different bases?

mine have a baby blue base with a black line script,

but all the other pairs i have seen (same size too 178) have a black base and a baby blue script

just line being creative i had the same thing until i snapped mine behind the heel peice they produced some with black base and some with the bright baby blue base i beleive the baby blue base is rarer though

when they cut the word line and the picture of the wolf out of the black base, they put it in the blue base. and after they cut out the wolf and the line out of the blue they put it in the black base. So im pretty sure the blue bases arent any more rare than the black, its probably 50/50. Everyone at my hill has blue exept for me and there like 4 people with them.

this is actually serious, but i have heard that black bases are a little faster than others because of the graphite (black) in them, im not sure if thats the case here, but i have ones with black bases...

probaby true but not a noticalble difference.

black bases on skis do actually make a big difference, its not only the graphite, they use that for coloring, the lack brings more heat into the material and quickens the speed of the ski. thats why like all race skis are a solid black base.
