Anthem mounting issue *not a ceter mount issue*

So i got my anthems mounted and i know they're symmetrical but does it matter if one ski was mounted and the other ski was flipped around so the graphic doesnt match up.

I know these skis are symmetrical so they are the same forwards and backwards but will it matter at all?

Email Line to make sure. When the Invader was launched J Lev put out a video talking about that everything was totally symmetrical so you can mount one forward and one backwards. The Anthem is meant to be just a fat Invader so I guess it's the same.

Measure tip to toepiece and tail to hellpiece on each ski too to check they're mounted in the same position. The line on Invaders is slightly back of centre so if you mount on the line with one forward/one back then you end up with about 5mm difference. They should have measured to check when they were mounting anyway but a lot of guys don't.

I realize this is a dumb question, but where is recommended on the Anthem? I remember someone saying it was back from center even though it's a symmetrical ski, because of the flex pattern.

Line site says dead centre but it says that for the Invader too and those were a couple of mm back on both skis when I measured them.

Maybe, or maybe they are just marked like that. Whatever, it makes no difference. If they were mounted on the line with one forward and one backwards then the bindings aren't going to be in the same position on each ski.

Exactly. Would make it kinda awkward to ski on.

@ Thread creator: Don't mount it 'till you're sure, because you don't want one ski with a stiff tip and soft tail and the other ski with a soft tip and stiff tail. Would make it interesting for sure, but would be a waste of $300

I own them and the skis are 100% symmetrical. Therefore there is no designated front or back. The graphics on the "front" and the same as the "back" just upside-down. If they are mounted at the same spot in the ski, which they should be there is no problem. It might not look as good aesthetically but they will function fine.

Once again, I bring up the flex argument. Just because the graphics look the same when you flip it around doesn't mean the ski will perform identically both ways. Perhaps that's the message it's supposed to put across, but until someone specifically tells me everything (including flex) is identical, I will not rest my case.

yes yes. for sure doesn't matter which direction they were mounted. trust me, they're the exact same. the only issue is that you don't have a portrait graphic like the ski was designed to have. no big deal.

i dont believe you... i have the 08 anthems in a 178 and i measured the recommended line and they are indeed 5 mm BEHIND true center...but the lines are both in the same place if the topsheets match up. that being said, if you mount with both topsheets facing the same way (ie. not matching) your suggested mounting lines arent in the same place on each ski. they are meant to be mounted with the topsheets matching up (creating the picture) but make sure that your mounting where you want because in that case the lines will be either 5mm in front of OR behind true center.

yeap I reckon flex is 100% symmetrical. hell, you could mount em forwards, backwards, sideways, angled, whatever bakes your cake.

flex is 100% semetrical you can mount them however you want it wont make any difference at all, but id be fucking pissed if mine were mounted backwards

i dont beleive that recommended isnt dead center, lines entire marketing campiagn is about them being 100% symmtrical.

So apparently it does has symmetrical flex. Therefore, my argument is no longer valid.

Mount however you like.

i think the reason they dont talk about mounting one forward or backward is because the graphics match up on each ski.

the invaders dont really have that kind of graphic.

just what i think

I'd say it would. Anyway, if what the other kid says is true (measured line at 5mm back of tru centre), then they would end up being 1cm different if they just used the lines.

So yeah, measure them up and make sure.

So ski shop fucked up.

They mounted them on the recomended so if it was the dead center i wouldnt have a problem

Damn you line's recommended mounting line!!!!!!
