well judging from the way he rides his inside ski like theres no tomorrow and has his arms all over the place, i wouldnt call it charging so much as holding on... and i dont know what your talking about as far as a double stage clif line is concerned, unless your talking about the pillow drop part which isnt a line, just a shot.

Uh, Tony charges HARD. Just because you haven't seen much of it in film doesn't mean it doesn't happen... until last season, had you ever seen Abma go heli skiing? No... doesn't mean he can't do it.

 
yeah but abma comes from a moguls backgroud which means he developed developed a base of proper SKIING technique before he moved on to freestyle... i dont know where anthony came from, but being a level two coach, i can pick out lots of things wrong with his skiing just from watching him, which leads me to question how hard he "charges" big moutain line, and how much of it is based on the fact that he rides skis that are 105 at the waist.

I believe the point of freeskiing is that there's no "right" way to do it as long as it works... thus "free". Are you implying that as a level two coach you're in a position to say that Tony sucks at actually skiing? Fact is, he does rip, and if you're trying to suggest that it's because of his skis' dimensions, allow me to LAUGH MY FAT ASS OFF AT YOU... because that's one of the silliest things I've ever heard on this website.

 
have you skiied waist deep powder on a 105 mm ski? do you understand how easy it is? im not saying anthony is a bad skiier, im just doubting how great of a big mountain skiier he is. as much as freeskiing is about being free, you can still say someone has bad technique. to put it in context, if somone throws a pencil spin three in the park and someone throws a three blunt, your saying that they are both just as good as each other because freeskiing is about being free. when you watch anthony, and then you watch someone with real big moutain chops like hugo, treadway, kreitler, or even jon, you can notice a difference, and that is good big mountain style if you want to talk in freeskiing terms

He is a strong skiier

Duh. He skis mostly in the backcountry, without manuiqured landings or perfect takeoffs.

He goes huge.

Duh. Look at his massive BC booters, such as the one that he cork 7s the shit out of in X.

He spins off cliffs.

This proves he knows how to pop, because if you don't pop when spinning in pow, you catch edges

Why? Because thats what its designed to do, maybe not just for Anthony either, maybe for you, or me, or whoever else wants to BE the best big mountain skier in the world.

Uh... so, um, when did skiing powder on a ridiculously stiff massively long plank of a ski become painfully easy? Those things are a heck of a lot of ski... so focussing on that as proof that he must suck seems, well, stupid.

how do you know hes not an amazing big mountain skier? do you hang out with him on a daily basis? so what if his arms flail, when your going 60 mph on a 50 somthing degree slope with to fairly large drops, i think there is an excuse. and he could own you any day on a jumps and rails, plus he would at least be able to keep up with you in AK, since you must be such an awesome skier. him and abma are easily the two best all around skiers out their right now. no arguments.

also, judging from my experience with 195cm atomic heli daddys, its a heck of a lot easier than skiing it on skis with a 80 mm waist.

yeah i stole the line about abma being one of the best all around skiers from the warren miller movie. becuase hes obviously not. now that i think about it he is terrible. im such a fucktard. because it doesnt take a good all around skier to have a part like his in yearbook. you just have to be a stupid park rat to ski those gnarly backcountry lines. sage sucks too. so does pollard. and even seth morison. but they all suck just because on the armada website they said that the ANT pro was good for charging big mountain lines. yep.
