Another "which ski" thread

I have been riding my halos for the last 2 years and I've loved them, but they're absolutely destroyed.

I ski in northern michigan, but am planning to move to CO after school.

5'11" 180lbs. 17 years old.

ski 70/30 park to all mountain. advanced.

Price is not a huge issue, I've been saving up for a while.

I wan't a light, soft, cambered park ski that I can throw around pretty easily, and hopefully won't get destroyed super fast. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

Armada AR7 seems to fit your bill pretty well, tough skis quite stiff and a nice camber to top it off.

Liberty LTE. Super soft, 100% camber, bombproof, with a bamboo core that's light as can be. You'll be able to whip stuff around on those.

I skied the the AR7s and the OG Halos back to back a while ago, and if I'm remembering correctly, it sounds like the AR7s might be a good suit. To give some kind of scale to discussing flex, if we're calling the old Halos soft, then the AR7s felt noticeably stiffer, I'd call it a solid medium flex. However they are by no means 2x4s, you can still flex them plenty. The fully cambered profile and stiffer flex made them feel snappier than the Halos, personally I really liked this. I'm an inch or two taller than you, and about ten pounds heavier, and I definitely preferred the AR7s, even just for messing around on small features and jibs, as that's all there was out in the dome when I was skiing them.

tempting. Ever tried the thalls? if so, how do they compair? everything I've seen says they're pretty similar other then the flax. My buddy has a pair of the thalls and I rode them for a day, I loved them. if the ar7 is similar I might have to try em out.

I've skied my buddies ar7 cool thing is that when you butter they pop back like crazy. Very lively feel to them. Gonna be harder to butter cause the stiffer flex but you'll love the responsiveness.

No, I haven't actually, but as far as I'm aware the only difference between the AR7s and the THalls is the flex. So perhaps the THalls may not feel quite as snappy as the ARs, however that's purely speculation.

Just searching around and curiously, does anyone know anything about the faction candide 1.0? I've heard their ski quality is amazing but how do they compair to something like the ar7?

Jskis 90 waist shape. Durable, backed by Jason Levinthal, hand made, mid flexing towards the softer side. They do have some mild early rise but its going to make buttering that much easier but without sacrificing much effective edge.

Haha, I guess the flex depends on the person. If you are stronger, and maybe a bit heavier than me you should be able to butter fine on them.

I don't know too much about the 1.0's but I can tell you that after 70+ days on my ar7s they have held up fantastic. The skis only have a few small edge breaks and I ski on the ice coast where I pretty much hit rails all day.

One last question, other than the bases how would the PC's compair? I've read quite a bit but if anyone has riden them let me know, thanks.
