This kid's right, the coffee was served at near boiling, like 200 degrees or something, way too hot to be consumed--way hotter than it needed to be and way hotter than any other similar coffee in the industry. The lady was SEVERELY burned--third degree on her thighs, etc. and had to get major skin grafts. That's why she sued, and more importantly why she won. You have to give credit to the justice system though, because nearly all actually frivolous lawsuits, such as suing the dry cleaner for $10 million because they lost your pants, are thrown out. And if damages are awarded grossly out of proportion, they are usually fixed during appeal.
