Another Switch Triple Rodeo...

Just saw this edit dropped today of the MSP Whistler shoot. Looks like a switch triple rodeo at 2:23.

They have balls to put down triple and jump this big, but i don't get it, aerial skiers are doing triples like it's almost nothing for them and I've also seen quadruple in videos from like the 1980s. I just don't think this is what freeskiing is all about. But I don't say that I only wanna see cork 3's and 5 blunt, but I think that a double cork/flip is enough rotation, and that there are tricks that haven't been done yet that don't involve a triple flip or cork

The triples that freeskiers are doing are arguably harder than the triples aerialists are doing, don't get me wrong what they're doing is still nuts and takes incredible air awareness, but adding a grab into a trick adds a whole new level of difficulty, along with them going off axis instead of straight back while twisting.

because freestyle skiers, shouldnt be allowed to ski how they want.

why dont you let them be FREE to do what they want, and you go watch who you want and do the tricks you want.

I saw Russ fall on this trick early last year and knock himself out of Winter X big air. Good to see he got one - I think this makes him the first to do forward AND switch triples? Everyone else has only one triple variation apart from Bobby, who has 4 I think but they're forward (flat 10/12, cork 14/16)

tom did one too later that week... then was asked how it felt to be part of the triple club and he responded " it feels like everyother club, expensive"

"I just don't think this is what freeskiing is all about." WOW what an ironically stupid fucking statement! Nobody cares what you think is "enough" and who the fuck are you to set limits on tricks, the fucking Trick Police? Get out.

I just shared my opinion, I didn't said that triples are gay, I said that I rather see something else than a triple. But people seem to like triples in this thread so yeah maybe I should get out

That's actually possible, take precalc/calc.

And to whoever said he's the first to have forward and switch triples, I'm pretty sure you're right. Sammy has the switch trip 12, and he put a trip cork 14 and 16 to his feet but didn't land them. The 14 was in the intro to The Grand Bizarre, and the 16 was in his hood film.

Son you're sadly mistaken. Bobby never did a trip flat anything. He did a triple wackflip and then a triple wackflip 180, not even a triple underflip imo. Not trying to knock one of the best skiers and correct me if I am wrong. I haven't seen him do a triple flat.

Whatever, my point was they were forward

If you want to split hairs, the 10 was probably whack but the 12 was a fair bit flatter.

I honestly can't sit until the first QUAD is landed. Some kids might even quit skiing over it. Meanwhile I'm just doing my thing...

I am really getting tired of hearing people say this. Freeskiing isn't "about" anything. Freeskiing is also "about" everything you can do on skis - to the point where I just call it skiing now.

What other people choose to do on a pair of skis is never right or wrong, and it's never going to be up to you to decide what is "best" for anything other than for yourself. arguing about if triples is good or bad is completely irrelevant and a waste of energy.

hell, even if triples was somehow "bad" for the sport, people will still do them. look at how many people smoke when it's a fact that hey are bad for you.

im with this guy. i dont understand how much people hate on triples, atleast the sport is progressing and not dieing off, we should be proud of all the new tricks being done
