Another Sponsorship Thread

I have search barred this topic for a while and haven't found much. I was thinking of sending an email to a company with an edit comp results, resume, etc but I was wondering if it is worth spending the time to send in an email cause obviously these companies are super busy and get so many sponsorhip requests each day. So basically do they even look at all the requests? I know its a stupid question but I didnt really find anything.

there is another thread about this literally directly bellow this thread. see what theyre saying in there

we are a tiny company and we get a shit tonne of requests. But I remember being in your position so here are some tips;1) put the effort in- a team manager won't bother putting the effort in to read it unless you put the effort in to write it. SPELL CHECK SPELL CHECK SPELL CHECK!

2) it really helps to show that you love the product/ brand before asking for free shit- the majority of our sponno requests are kids telling me they love our stuff but don't already wear it... how do they know they love it if they don't already use it? Basically you've got to be a brand advocate before getting free shit.

3) make the edit short- no crashes. Just your best shit so far.

4) be succinct about your plans. Is a company willing to spend a dime on a 16 year old because they love it? if you have seasonal goals and plans that you can clearly outline e.g. i will be shooting with this film crew over these dates then doing these comps etc. A company will be more willing to invest in a young ripper if they're dedicated and have a plan.

I hope this helps and that i didn't come across as too salty.

Always just ski for yourself and have a good time!

Cheers,

Will

I suggest posting the edit on NS first to get some feedback from some of the companies that have profiles on here or some of the skiers on here that may be better than you and the ones that are better than you. Criticism is worth it even though some of it may hurt.

Film you and your friends cruising groomers then put the illest hip hop tracks to it then you got yourself a ballin sponsorship coming your way

Thanks! This really helped. Since you are a comany, I was wondering, do u check all of ur sponsorship request if not what makes you check some but not others.

We read every single email and request that comes in and generally respond to them all too. Unless someone writes to me and has attitude and the email is like "yo, i'm hood as f*ck, hook me up already"...

Sometimes the edits and skiing just isn't good enough and sometimes we get seriously awesome riders that we just can't give product to because we don't have the budget for it.

Hope that helps answer your question.

good point....

my first suggestion would be to have a hard think about why you want sponsorship... skiing for yourself and having fun is too underrated in this industry.

You're best bet is to outline in your email "what can I do for the company"...if you can answer that and feel confident about it you're probably sitting in a better place than half the kids sending out a similar email.

Send it to somebody that is in the industry you know personally or that is sponsored already on any level...if you can't do either..start bugging your local shop non stop
