Another SPK vs Foil boot thread....

I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but I was going back and forth between these two boots. Honestly, I thought the foil was more comfortable, but maybe that's just because it fits more like a traditional boot. The SPK certainly holds my heel in place, but it's just such a different fit form every other boot, including Salomon's.

I got the SPKs (for a solid $349). The foils were just WAY too soft, they seriously felt like mush. I've never tried on a softer flexing boot than that. I don't know how Salomon can claim that those two boots have the same flex. Anyone actually skied both of these boots? Thoughts?

the foils are a fairly stiff boot. your boot flex depends on how you ski and your weight. if the foils felt soft to you, i am guessing you weigh more than me. i weigh 163 and they are pretty stiff

i have last years foil boots and they are definitly some of the softest boots ive ever tried on(work at a shop). unless they drastically stiffened this years. oh and i only weigh 135.

unfortunatly we dropped salomon at the end of last season so i havent had a chance to check out the spk's

i have the spk myself... and i absolutely love it. Its the best boot and most comfortable boot that i have ever used... its the best. believe me you will not be disappointed with it.

Yeah, I weight 175lbs. When I flex them, they flex so much that the bottom buckles would come upfastened! While that may be okay in the park, it sure sucks everywhere else. The SPKs are actually somewhat stiff, but I really don't mind that since I like to ski hard outside the park a lot too.

I just bought them the other night, so I can't wait to try them out this weekend! I've been suffering with too narrow boots for years.
