Another Reason Not to Shop at American Apparel

he has been accused of way more than that. at leat 5 formal sexual harrassment lawsuits, and informally accused of trading promotions for sex, sleeping with lots of employees, all sorts of sleazeball shit.

man fuck that store, right in it's hairy homo ass.... A friend of mine worked there for a bit and they actually told him to ignore the customers and to look apathetic and hip
 
AA is pretty gay and the service sucks ass, but i still go there because they sell products that i like, and they are taking a step in the right direction in terms of global stewardship- they sell a ton of organic clothing, and all of their stuff in manufactured in LA, for good wages. despite the owner being a fucking weirdo, he's running a business in a way that i can appreciate compared to most corporations.
 
it's based out of LA. they are international though.

if you dont know of them, you probably don't live in an area with a large hipster population, consider yourself lucky.
 
i found it funny that the store was in Canada when it's called American Apparel. it's not that funny but i chuckled.
 
it is this clothing company that has a pretty cool idea, all the stuff is made in the US and the factory workers have great jobs. The down side is the CEO is a pervert and the clothes make you look like you're from a scooby doo cartoon. I don't know how to explain the style.. its supposed to be cool i guess
 
they have some sick stuff at aa but some of the shit there is wack. i like how girlies look when they are hipsters :P

I've never been in one of their stores, I'm pretty sure it would suck. I deal with these kids enough in the photo lab at school.

I got a sick purple hoodie and some comfy as hell shirts from there, but some of the crap they have is just weird. They do source a large portion of small local type tshirt/clothing companies, but I gotta agree, that guy is messed up.
 
so you're saying if I want to parade around my business in a bathrobe and little else, don't go public? they should teach this in business 1000 level classes
 
I believe he is talking about the impact a company's image has on its worth in the public market. If people think the company is run by a maniac, they won't be as likely to invest in the company and it will hurt the company and the other investors.
On the other hand, if Dov Charney owns the company exclusively, it doesn't matter as much what he does publicly.

Yea, I would be pretty pissed if my daughter went into American Apparel looking for gay buttsecks magazines and found a backpack.
