Another reason not to buy salomon

so i have salomon s912 bindings and i never really liked them but this is the last straw

first hit of the season today, i had built a 10 foot jump nothing crazy, and when i landed i caught a tip, but instead of releasing the titanium holding the heel piece together snapped in two.

how the fuck does titanium snap in two? my din was only at 6 so the binding shouldve released. on top of that i wasnt even goig that fast!

so any way im just taking the time to tell the skiing community that salomon blows balls once again

fuck im angry

thats why you dont get the ti 912s cause there plastic and shit you get the higher end solomon bidings. anyone who is riding park and pushing harder then the average skier would needs to have a high end binding.

yea titanium isn't all that strong, it's used because of it's weight. If you play lacrosse, you see see how easily a ti shaft can break.

shit btreaks, not a good reason not to buy salomon, everyone bitches and says most of the gear I use sucks, and yeah I never have problems. Its not the salomons, its porbably you

You don't need to quote me and say my name you retarddd. BTW, nice good charlotte icon, you panzy ass motherfucker.

ive stood next to a kid who snapped a titanium shaft over his thigh in 40 degree weather like it was a toothpick, and i seen 2 titanium shafts split in two over someones neck...its not indestructable

you got completely ripped off on price then (unless you are talking canadian).

dude, your bindings may have busted, but how are your knees? send them in for warranty, and you are golden. there is a very good chance they will give you bindings to replace them on the spot, so you don't have to wait for warranty repair. they will also not charge to put them on/set them up. salomon has incredible warranty service on their bindings. i have shredded toe and heel pieces in half, and they hook it up every time no questions asked.

why do i ski bindings i have broken you ask? because i have broken every bindings i have ever used. its going to happen. but salomons have given me the most reliable performance, the most security to my health, and my favorite feel. that is all subjective to me, but i'm not entirely sure you have anything to bitch about at this point.... you nosed your fucking skis, its no surprise the bindings took a shitload of strain. be happy that they kept your legs intact, and that you can warranty them.

i have salomon s810 i never used them yet though but the only tricks i can do are 1440 double corked rodeo mistys but i only hit 200 foot gaps so i should be fine. j'k but yeah i salomon has been making skis and ski equipment forever dont you think they would know what they are doing by now?

by the way dude, I didn't mean to be like "its your fault your a cock, I just mean its not a crappy product, weird things happen, and most things if taken care of correctly will work fine no mater the company.

My S912ti's did the exact same, the heel piece broke at the titanium part or whatever. I have never had a worse experience with bindings than I did with my s912ti's.

i am talking canadian, im bitching mostly cause im angry and its really easy to put the blame on salomon, i mean if your bindings broke on the first hit of the year off a 10 foot jump im sure you'd be mad as hell too. how much time do i have before the warantee runs out? ive had these bindings for 17 months so it might be too late

you havent been around high end lax then. i grew up in syracuse. lax breeding ground of the world. ive snapped 2 ti's, and seen at least 30 broken on my team alone.

i play in the oshawa area, the canadian lacrosse breeding ground of the world, and yes i have been around high end lacrosse, dont make assumptions just because i havent seen a titanium shaft break

yea, i know how it goes. last season i took brutal fall after brutal fall on some 5s. it was the biggest table i had ever spun on and it just was not happening that day. i finally skied away from the table, hopped up on a box and watched the toe-piece fall off my binding (it snapped in half). i can only assume i cracked it on the bails, but it was still a big "what the fuck?@!!" moment.

i think you might be fine at 17 months. if i recall correctly, bindings generally have warranties that last as long as they are indemnified. call your shop though, cause my brain is fried from finals right now.

Take them to any good ski shop and they should be able to fix it. I snapped the track on my old S900s that were over two years old - I took them to a shop back home (Scotland) and they put a new track on and replaced the missing plastic on the heelpiece, all for free.

ive heard the titanium pieces break from a number of different people, including people who work for salomon. go into the shop you bought them from and tell them what happened. I doubt they will give you new bindings, but they will replace the pieces. Ask for the metal ones, (like those on 916s and 920s) and they won't break again.

and yes, i also challenge you to try and break a pair of 916s. those things are tanks.

The skis are durable as hell. If you could break the shitty pair of Salomans I used to have I would have.

Really, though, titanium isn't that strong, sort of brittle tooo

Titanium is light and brittle, esp in cold....IE Titanium breaks. The old steel tracks would have bent and been just as useless.

Bring them into the shop you bought them from and warranty them and stop bitching.

I use to have 810 TI's (weak I know) i use to have them maxed out and had the foreward pressure all the way up and still popped out when i didnt want too

now i have FKS 120's those are the best bindings period

I had the same thing happen 3 times last year. They were good about eh warranty though. Send them in and you'll get new ones.

You should be able to get them warrantied. While you are looking at them, see if you cracked any of the plastic already, just to save yourself time.

everything breaks, but damn i thought s912's were nice. ive got them on my stl's and i havent had much problems at all. they pop out a little easier than rossi's but thats why my din is at 9. and i weigh 140, so mabye the heavier people are having problems?

Just a few things,

Salomon bindings have a 5 year warrenty. You can take your bindings into the shop you bought them from and they'll probably give you a new pair on the spot while they send the old ones back in. You might not get the same colour binding depending on what the shop has on hand, if this is a big deal.

Titanium is very, very strong and lightweight. However, it is also very brittle. This is compounded in the cold and sometimes it can crack or shatter. I have titanium salomon bindings and have never had a problem with this. Once last year, the toe piece did fall apart but they were warrientied dispite being my fourth season on them.

It't titanium alloy, mostly made of low grade aluminum. The do this to make the binding lighter, but it doesnt really make it much stronger in extreme hot hor cold. Secondly, most of the metal in the binding isnt even made of this, its just straight aluminum or steel. Dont let the name fool you.

Bindings break sometimes.. I had p12's for 3 years.. the same pair.. they held up though everything, then one day the heelpiece broke in two on a simple off balance 5 on a 15 foot table.. it happens sometimes.. bindings just have weaknesses that only become apparent if you fall in an specific way. Your really going to crap on salomon because you broke a single binding? Man up.

yea get the 914's there way heavyer but they wont snap into...atleast not on something as alme as that.

by the way how did you catch your tips on a 10 foot table?
