Do you think its possible to do a backflip with a lincoln?

Now before you go saying its a rodeo or an underflip, you need to think about it. Since its EXTREMELY hard to visualize it, Ill try to make it easier.

Take a pen, or some other long object, and pretend its a skier. now, instead of standing it up, lay it flat, so that a 'lincoln' would just be rolling the pen once. Now just flip it like a backflip, and roll it like a 'lincoln'. Notice how at half a backflip and half a lincoln, it is rightside up again and facing the opposite way.

The reason its easy to do it like this is because you can see the backflip axis, so you dont mess up the motion of the trick. What I wanna know is, could you do this on feet?

I know it sounds an awful lot like a rodeo, but just think about it for a second, and you will see the diffrences

it dosent seem like it would work, b/c how can u do two inverted tricks at the same time, thats like saying a back flip front flip at the same time, but maybe im not understanding what your tryin to say..

BUT, a backflip and frontflip are on the same axis, so it cant work.

Imagine a line going across your waist from left to right, this is the axis for backflips and frontflips. when you flip, you flip around this line. Now think about one at the same level, but going from front to back. this is the lincoln axis, and you flip around this when you do a lincon.

Now, think about rotation around both of these axes at the same time. thats what Im tryong to say.

with those line from the hips analogy, where would your head be when inverted? between each line? on the back/front line? or on the lincoln line?

Ideally, if you spin both at the same rate, you would be right side up again facing backwards after 1/2 backflip and 1/2 lincoln. you could take it further and do a full back and full lincon and land back normal too

if i visualized this right, it seems like it would be almost like a cork 180 but leaning backwards instead of forwards? which i think would look pretty awkward, like you'd really only go horizontal when your head is about 90 degrees through the trick. Say you lincoln right, you would be horizontal and looking to the left of the way you were originally facing, then just level out to a switch ladning after that... wow that was way more complicated than it needed to be haha

the only reason it works is cause youre doin it with a horizontal pen. it wouldnt work for a person just like some other guy said cause youre spinnin on 2 different flippy positions. try it with a cell phone, its impossible. yuo just wasted 10 minutes of my life you bastard

i completely got it i think.......so you throw a backflip and when your completely upside down huck half a lincoln making you land backwards.....i guarentee that someone could do it though, think about it as someone who doesnt commit to their backflip and lands on their head just do that and use your weight to huck half a lincoln.......do i make sense?

tigger, it wouldnt be diagonal because we arent combining the two axes to make a diagonal one, were flipping on two at once and yet keeping each one of them separate, if you get what im saying

Sorry cruz, you can't take a 90° direction change in the middle of a flip (see Newton's First Law of Motion). You can speed up or slow down the rotation, and you can twist your body to greater or lesser extent. That's it.

The direction of the flip is set when you still have contact with the jump. Unless you were hit from the side by a big friggin' bird or something, that won't change. There's just not enough resistance in the air to do what you propose.

Is there a video of this "hard flip" somewhere?

 
Im mot talking about a 90 degree direction change, that was just an example to help people understand. Im talking about combiningthe two at once
