Another neat mdp movie

kind of a waste of a trailer to promote a snowboarding video since there was all of about 15 seconds of actual snowboarding none-the-less snow haha. Is this supposed to be a seperate movie than "Picture This?"

that is my favorite teaser this season. I like seeing something completely different like that. All these movies that say they want to have more depth put out a ski porn styled teaser, to support a movie that isnt necessarily based on what the teaser represents? it makes no sense. This actually shows some diversity and creativity that was put together well and filmed well into a production. And not just the Movie itself but a teaser that will represent the movie. Right on!

Absolutely. I think it was in the POME trailer that someone said that they were trying to create something different, that didn't fit into the mold of a traditional ski movie. That was a bad way to describe their movie, since it was everything that embodies what ski movies are now, but a perfect way to describe this MDP movie.

agreed, but abstract, was so far from even having a direction with their film. they talked about 300 different things they wanted to do. i'm sure they'll do something. But the thing i like about MDP is they dont sit there claiming they're gonna do it, they flat out fucking did it. I mean harleys? how rad is that. POME was cool, but they say all this stuff, and really all their teaser had is skiing w/ some lifestyle shots of a guy with a mirror. Abstract should drop another teaser, w/o the talking and w/o all the saying "oh we want to be different" because everyone does, and actually show everyone what they're actually gonna do and how they're gonna do something "different"

I have a tremendous respect for the actual quality of abstract's films, but the way they feel they need to let everyone know their intentions seems to defeat the purpose of editing in the first place. Like you pointed out, MDP's movie has fucking hogs, which speaks for itself, and lay down a mood for the flick. Abstract tells everyone about what their intentions are, and then the movie confuses us as to what their real intentions are. I'm in full agreement with you.

as do i. they just have no direction, and dont know how to communicate their ideas to everyone.
