i just put pressure on my front left ski (spining left) as i approach the takeoff, and kinda push off it into a spin, i did my first by mistake...

it depends just make sure the jump has a wide landing, i usually carve alot it makes for a smoother rotation

what's the point of a carved spin...are we trying to be gay like snowboarders and only spin a 270 and call it a 360 because we slide the take off and landing??? cant you people spin normally?

Everyone wants to do it now because its 'stylie' and it got some play in magazines this year.

Carve into the jump, not slide...

you get on the edge and make a carve turn where the middle of the turn hits the jump. so you hit th jump straight but on the edge with the turning momentum, you get it???

Hey Pocketrocket you are a tool. Do you wind up and pin out your 360s with your arms straight out like airplane wings?

Go sleding or somthing.

you know...you can throw a spin without looking like a tool, even if you dont carve....i'm sure my skis turn a bit when i leave the take off, but i dont do a big gay snowboarder turn up the inrun, leaving a huge ass rut, followed by plowing the landing leaving another huge ass rut...i leave clean, and stick clean....and i'm stylie in the air (unless you call the most tweaked out mute/huntony/japan you've ever seen to be 'arms out like an airplane')

its not a 270 if u come in on a angle, then u do the 90 just as a wind up kinda its like like you are going on the jump side ways...

Ya u need a super wide landing, I always fall off the sides of jumps that arent too wide if i carve. Well not always, but it happens and it hurts.

you can carve off park table without leaving a mark

it's just being able to carve correctly

i think carving to spin is pointless and retarded...i just don't see the point in it...

I just think pocket rocket might be sad because he never learned how to carve a turn.

don't bother replying, you'll only dig your hole deeper.

ha aha haha Hun's suck, except in the pipe done by some that know what there doin,

Mickal's corked/ carved spins are the shit!

A true Carved spin is a rush, as well as being pretty technical, they just another trick to add to your inventory.

... but whatever the leaders of our sport are crack addicts so who knows whats gonna happen.'

THC (triple Hybrid Core)

is just soemthing tanner Hall made up

THC is 'conincidently' the name of the drug in Marijuana... And the designers of the skis 'conincindently' smoke so much weed

nope huntonys suck even in the pipe... the only person i've ever seen do a good one is JP in degenerates japan section... it was a 3 and it was sick.

hey poop...i bet i can outski you in any terrain, any day, any comp, without trying...so how about you shut the hell up...i think carved spins are gay, some other people think straight spins are gay...is anyone right or wrong...NO, so shut up....fuckin newbies

Hey talk a little louder, I can't hear you way down in the bottom of that hole.

...By the way, GREAT idea, I will take your challenge! We'll have a ski off!!! it will be just like the movies... LETS SETTLE THIS ONE OUT ON THE SLOPES BOYS!!! WAHOO!!! (high-fives and butt-slaps all around)

Stop stop braging about yourself, I don't care.

Hey pocketrocket.. you idolize poopfinger.. you know him and you love him... and now you are talking shit to the same dude you support.

i'd watch your mouth cause you never know who you are really talking shit to. since chances are you helped pay poopfinger to ski. hahahaha

you little bitch.. i wanna see this ski off.. i put money on the poopfinger kid. for sure.

'what the fuck you mean is he fuckin dead? the nigga layin there wid all types of fuckin blood comin out his head'

why would i have helped pay poopfinger to ski...and even if i know him i'm still gonna talk shit becuase he's being a little bitch

life jacket has got a point there. Mickaels carving cork spins are pretty much the sickest thing since the Manson family. Every other pro seems to think so too. yep...

ya carved spins rule, they feel so much more comfortable.

remember yesterday.live for today.plan for tommorrow.

i prefer normal spins too, i guess ive seen too many snowboarders carve into a jump, hit the very corner, do a big ugly spin and land right off the landing. you dont need to carve into the jump to do a stylie spin in my opinion.

Not at all, Phil Belanger is a perfect example of someone who doesn't carve into his spins. He still looks sick. Carved spins just bring another dimention into the sport, and when its done right, its really sick.

Not always though dave... Belan does carve sometimes.. it just depends on what trick he's doing and how the jump is.... were not saying that every trick needs to be carved into... just that you need to feel out a jump and then do the best trick for that jump. which may sometimes be a spin or and air where you hit the jump straight on... but other times you may want to carve into the jump...

pocketrocket is copletely shooting down carving at all... and saying that it looks gay... this just stupid... everyone has different styles and adapts differently to every jump.

peace DMB.

'what the fuck you mean is he fuckin dead? the nigga layin there wid all types of fuckin blood comin out his head'

oh ya I forgot, Belan does oppisite carves.

carves to the right, spins to the left, looks especialy sick.

i said i dont like carved spins...that doesnt mean that NO ONE can do them, i just prefer straight spins, or corked/bio spins...thats what i think looks cooler...so deal with it

First it was the Misty, then the Dinner Role, then the D-Spin, then the Switch Rodeo. Why does everyone always jump all over the newest thing just cause it got some play in the mag.

Fuck how many posts were there like a year ago 'How do you do a Switch Rodeo'. Just go out there for frick sakes and try it. No one can tell you how to do it over the internet.

carving off of jumps isnt following trends... its the progression of the sport... if you all dont want to carve then its up to you...

i'm not saying thats a bad thing... have fun with skiing and thats it... it feels cool as hell to carve off of a jump... so thats what i'm gonna keep doing.

carving off of jumps doesnt have to always be with spins either... i do straight airs that are carving too... it feels rad... and if you guys dont want to do it then i could really give a shit.. i ski for me, not for you.

I print them out. I have got a clip board on my ski belt with over 30 tricks on there for easy reference. I let all you people do the crashing and then i get your tips to save me alot of pain.

how do you do a carved straight air??? come on now.... i was in the middle of typing how to do it... but i realized that you need to figure it out on your own.... its not that hard to figure out... you dont think you can do a carved straight air or what? think a little more creativly.

peace dmb

'what the fuck you mean is he fuckin dead? the nigga layin there wid all types of fuckin blood comin out his head'

hahaha you varve but you do not spin... that's kinda simple...

I do my pizza flips by carving into the jump, my mistys, my corks my fakie corks

hitting a jump while carving is the same as hitting a jump straight, it just bring a different style and takes another technique to do the trick

President of the crazed posting brother of NS.com

I'm feeling greeaaaattt!!!!

ok, i'll rephraise....why do you need to carve into a straight air...do you just turn then jump straight??? what's the point? i really dont get this, carved spins at least make some sence becuase you initiate the spin on the ground...but a carved straight air??? that's like a carved backflip...no point

dude you have no idea do you?? carving makes any jump bigger.. you go from one edge of a jump to the other... when you do a carved straight air its almost like doing a whip on a dirtbike. you get a little sideways in the air. its dope.

i dont understand why you originally posted under this in the first place... it was asking how to carve up jumps.. if you dont want any part of it then just stay out of it!

chill out and do your own thing. obviously you arent gonna agree with us on it... so just leave it at that.

whatever dude...i was just curious...before this post i never heard about carved spins (or maybe i did, just another name) and i thought they were dumb...now that i know what they are, why people do them and what it's all about, maybe my view has changed...and then it went to carved straight airs, so i was curious about that...

last time i checked it was okay to have my own viewpoints in this world...whatever

okay thats what i wanted to hear from you... thanks for being honest...

it just seemed like you were jumping on us too quick and calling it trendy.

as long as you let us all chill and do whatever without calling us on it.. then thats cool with me..
