Another fatal injury at Summit at Snoqualime

about 3 hours ago a 13 year old skier went off of a 150 foot cliff at Alpental, which is the most advanced mountain at summit at snoqualmie....he was found at the bottom of the cliff by another person, he was concious, and complaining of abdominal pain. The paremdics air-lifted him to Harborview hospital, and by the time they got there he was in critical condition. Right now he is undergoing surgery, and he's not looking to god...What is weird is that is the third critical injury that has happened at Summit at Snoqualmie in the past 8 days!..As most of you know, 8 days ago a skier broke his back and his neck on a table at the mountain. Then, 2 nighhts ago, a little girl fell off of the chairlift at an estimated 3 stories high. She broke her arm, 3 ribs, both wrists, and about 4 fingers....now this is my home mountain, and i also work there, so im sure business is going to drop, and i hope they dont close the mountian early or anything...But the boy who fell off the cliff today was wayyyy outta bounds, and every area where you could get to that cliff is roped off, and marked with signs....stay tuned, i will update wen there is more info...

sometimes people try ski that shit in there, but ive never heard of a 13 year old trying... thats madness. hope that kid is allright.

i dont think he did it on purpose, cause they said that he was too far down and away from the lift, so he and his friends would have to hike up and then ski over to the lift...he didnt want to so he said he would cut through the out of bounds, and meet them on the other side, and he skied right over the side of the cliff...that sucs

does your mountain have a website?? i hope the kid pulls through but people need to realize that what they see in ski movies you cant do. i think people are trying to imatate the pros and they are pros becuase they can do it right and they get paid for it.

When we ski, we all take the risks of gettin hurt but we know our limits at the same time. The kid just didnt know his limits.

the story on the little girl is she was in a lesson, and she was on the chair, and i guess she was rocking back and forth, and she wasnt sitting on the seat all the way, and she fell to the ground from like 3 stories high...but that shouldnt be the mountains fault, cause she was breaking all the rules, but the parents are trying to make a lawsuit about the chairs should all have safety bars...if that happened and the parents won, that would be really stupid....

first of all that is horrible and i hope that kid is ok.

second. if it was way out of bounds as you say then i guess the mountain isn't too blame and he was in the bc. out of bounds is what is says. out of bounds and your on your own. summit should in no way be responsible.

^the cliff is not way out of bounds...its right over the rope line. check the pic, its in the upper middle that says 'Cliff Area.' Lots of people have died on that thing...it was been skied though, there are two lines both with manditory big drops...

Yeah, i've skied that backcountry, but stuck on the far side of the high-traverse...good bowls and trees, away from the fucking insano cliffs. 20-30 ft.ers. Sucks so bad for that kid.

How bout this, Brooke's (powderprincess) brother broke his back in 2 places hitting a jump at mission yesterday. somewhere in his lower back i don't know which ones. now they have him soo fucked up on drugs right now he doesn't care whats going on. haha. poor guy though the kills his season.
