Skiers of Instagram: Dont even fucking follow me in the first place if you're just gonna unfollow me afterward. I know you're just fishing for followers and it's incredibly obvious. Not gonna list any names. You know who you are and so does everyone else. This trend seems to be very common among good European skiers too. Shits lame, I'm not gonna follow you back, and it's kind of insulting.
 
Instagram is so fucking lame, I wouldn’t even have one if it weren’t for the fact that there seems to be more skiing content there than here nowadays
 
Don't forget all the kids going through & liking every single comment on a post. I notice that a lot and it's hilarious because unless you follow them, you won't get a notification that they liked it.
 
Insta is properly shit these days, the greedy fucks at Facebook have ruined it with the number adverts you see every 4 or 5 posts and removing the chronological order was such a dumbass move it's unreal.

And yeah I'm not even a massive user, but I still get loads of people following me to then unfollow 2 days later... all I can say is get a life!

Couldn't have said it better. Although I have to say, insta has exposed my to so many new skiers and styles of skiing that i never would have seen otherwise. Instagram is far from perfect, but it still does a lot for skiing.

Honestly, I thought it was just me getting followed by all these swedes and having them follow me. I always figured it was bs, cause why would some semi-pro dude follow a skinny kid who mostly posts airplane shit.
 
But it works for all those instagram porn sta...sorry, I mean "models" out there, why not for skiers?
 
Lol kiernan recently followed me, I saw the notification quickly and he already wasn’t following me. I already follow them so don’t fucking follow and unfollow me once a month, their hype is kinda over anyways, just like the post but either follow me or not. Lol.
 
Also what the fuck is with skiing related instagram bots liking random shit and posting fist emojis, "wow" and "sick" on all my shit. Like fuck off proteus I don't want a "sponsorship"
 
Hilarious that this happens to other people. I don't even post ski content on my handle and I'm private and I still get followed by a Fagan twin every other week. Unfortunately even Sandy Boville followed me last year before he started blowing up. Get a life squids if you can shred you shouldn't have to be cheating for followers on IG, let your skiing talk for you.

On a side note, @Maitaisai got them fire edits
 
Have any of you guys been followed by a bunch of accounts connected to some shit company called "Apache Pine". They apparently make hipster watches and shit. They've got like 10 bots following me. I know proteus does this shit too. Fuck them.

Oh yeah those "WIN ME" spam bots swarmed me for the longest time, I had like 10 follow me as well for like a couple months trying to scam me into wanting a wooden watch, a shitty knife or something similar...

Apache Pine is actually out of Idaho haha. It was WAY worse a few years back in high school. They actually make some okay stuff, but yeah it's annoying. Idk if they even sell anything, it's all just giveaways. Some rich kids playing around with daddy's money.

That said, sometimes I'll follow a cutie and if she doesn't follow back I'll re follow to send the message. They usually follow back the second time around if they didn't the first. And if not, she a hoe and she ain't worth the time anyways.

Whenever they follow me, it's always with accounts that link to their sponsorship page. This went on for like 6 months before I decided to fuck it and apply for sponsorship if they wanted me me so bad. Never heard back. Don't taunt me like that fam. SMH

isn't it kind of halfway between these two though? riders want a big number of followers so they can brag to sponsors or potential sponsors about how much exposure and influence they can afford the brand

Slightly different issue than yours since i have zero influence but the thirst of these people is unreal, i have maybe 60 followers, all close friends and family. Without fail I will obtain and lose about 50 follows during the ski season from the 3 pictures i post a year in the cottonwoods.
