Another Craigslist scam? opinions needed please.

alright, so im trying to make some skrill by selling my old laptop on craigslist, and i got a hit. This guy wants to pay me $200 more for my computer than my asking price to ship it to i have no idea where. Now at first im am thinking, DEFINITELY a scam. I email him saying "sorry, local pickup and cash only", and he replys saying that he will paypal me the money before i even ship the computer. This has me thinking, maybe not a scam? This is the reply he sent me when i said only local pickup:

Why?? is it because of the scam online now...i want you to know that i

am a legit buyer and also PayPal

verified member so you have nothing to fear about and also that is why i

said i will send out the payment first before you ship the item,so get

back to me with your PayPal account ID for the payment,waiting

for your reply.

I still have a big gut feeling that this is a scam, but what do you guys think? Is there any way that him sending me the money via paypal before i ship my comp can still be a scam?

If you do end up doing this, ship via USPS and get a delivery conformation number. You can do all of this through PP(I think) so that it goes in to the system when it gets to where it is going. That way, he can't file a dispute saying that he never got it.
 
Well, you might as well just let him paypal you the money and see what happens. If it shows up then good, probably legit and if it doesn't then tell him to go fuck himself. But you should also get like his name/address obviously and make sure it's not all fake so if he does somehow scam you can go kill him.
 
ask for his phone number so you can talk to him personally and get it worked out quicker. if he gives you his real number than most likely not a scam, if he gives you a fake/ not his, then obviously its a scam
 
why would he offer you $200 more tho?

get him to send you the money, then withdraw it, then send the laptop is my best advice
 
Like said above, ask for his phone number and call. If you go though paypal just have him send the money and then take all the money out of your paypal just to be safe. or tell him to send a bank check. cash it first then send it. If you do that there is no way he can scam you!
 
Idk why nigerians get such a bad rap. I just got an email the other day from Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed in nigeria. He recently came into a big inheritance. He's trying to move to the states. I sent him 2k to help him get over here. He can't get the money that he inherited till he makes the trip over. When he gets here he's going to give me 5 percent of his inheritence. Worth almost 100k. I say it was a great investment
 
someone, why the fuck are all the scammers coming from Nigeria? I had some guy over there try to offer me like 200$ more than i wanted for something i was selling on ebay. but it was scam. but whats up with nigeria? i hear its a common scam place.
