Anonymous To Destroy Facebook on November 5th

I hope they FUBAR Facebook for a little while. I enjoy Facebook but would love to see it gone for a little while.

OMG WHEN I WENT ON FB IT WAS JUST A BLANK PAGE WITH ANONYMOUS'S LOGO ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quite the contrary, they are the epitome of fucking around. Anon is a bunch of self-righteous internet thugs and geeks. Nothing they have done has generated enough publicity to really bring light to the causes in which they are against. In addition all attacks carried out are temporary and have little to no long lasting impact thus far.

i would miss Facebook cuz i use it to connect with people and it is really convenient, but on the other hand i think everyone would be better off without it including my self

I would like to hear some more justification for this...

Do you (and like-minded persons) think about only FB in this context, or all social media? I for one would not be better off without it at the moment.

do you not have enough friends in your own hometown? because I don't need facebook to meet up with people, I have their contact info in my cell phone or written down in my address book if

I really need to get in touch with them. I use facebook pretty much purely for marketing of myself as an artist and athlete...there are some interesting photos that are shared for events and comps and stuff but I don't care about seeing anyone with red cups in their hand or dressed up in slutty costumes. Shit's self-deprecating. As well as posting useless statuses.

I also feel really uncomfortable knowing that facebook keeps all your information archived, I was a little less subtle about what I posted when I was younger.

First of all, none of my friends have any red cups or are dressed in slutty costumes, so if you're mirroring your FB experience to someone else's then words to the wise - it may vary.

At the moment, for myself, it's the ultimate best way to:

-Stay in touch with friends near and afar

-Organize events and happenings

-Get info on gigs and parties

-Hold long group convos that everyone checks often

-Post pictures of cats

I'm a bit introverted at times and Facebook has really connected me to a booming social life more than anything before, contrary to what some posters have mentioned about FB somehow interfering with actual real-life contact with people.

As for statuses, pictures, links etc... I share what I like, and although I try to regret nothing in life, I don't post anything too illicit or criminal on there. It's just bits and pieces.

i really hope this guy takes it down.....and also google plus isn't any better.. google will soon be the biggest company in the world and also tracks your information....google is just as bad if not worse

google doesnt archive your information in the same way facebook does. information that is yours on google remains in your possession, information that is yours on facebook immediately becomes facebooks possession.

If you don't want your information shared with millions of people than don't put it online. Is that really that hard of a concept to understand?

whatever happened to their "literally explosive" material they had on the Bohemian Grove? bc of that i expect nothing.

seriously, i'm obv interested too..

but i mainly want to know what will happen after this..

inb4 cellphones company making a lot of money..

actually, they don't need to "destroy" it. But it would be col if they could get rid of all the information that facebook has. that would be a huge blow.

its mostly our cultures fault that we are such a "disconnected" society. there are LOTS of places to live in the world that can offer what you want, and no im not only referring to black bushmen. we get so wrapped up in our little world here in north america that we sort of just assume that everywhere else is the same, its called ethnocentrism.

I strive for simplicity in a complex society, its not easy. Although, if that were entirely true I wouldn't be on NS, play xbox, or use a phone, but those things allow me to connect with the things I enjoy most in life, so that's all I need as far as tech goes.

they have tried this at least 3 or 4 times before, you can't kill the Facebook. they might knock it down for like an hour if they're lucky.
