Ankles Cracking Related To Skiing?

in a thread a few weeks ago a ton of people were saying that their ankles crack a tonnnn.  is it related to skiing at all, or is it just from something else?  and can a lot of ppl crack their ankles whenever they want?
 
jea, i broke both my ankles as a kid and now i can pop them multiple times a day.

i really hope they dont explode while im skiing.
 
I've never broken before, but I can make my right ankle crack on command, kind of odd.
 
mine do to whenever i walk, i talked to my doctor about it, he said its nothing to worry about unless their is pain invloved
 
hehe yeah same here all though i did brake it several years ago... and in the mornings, it's snack, crackle, pop! every single day.
 
ya ive broken both but its always happened, especially when i walk up stairs, i have like woken people up with them. but my brother is the same way, its nothin bad.
 
no man its natural, its just pressure building up in your joints, when you crack your fingers and ankles and anything else, it relaxes the joints. the downside is that you do it too much, say hello to artheritis.(excuse my spelling)
 
yea mine do crack a lot too but i am not sure what its from though....anyone know what is actually happening....i heard it was when your joints relieve pressure/stress but does anyone know like for sure what it is
 
no its not related to skiing, you dont have to have any injury that makes your ankles crack. Its common among a lot of the world
 
yea, though some people have had injuries that make their ankles crack a lot, many people including myself just have ankles that crack a lot for no apparent reason. Anytime I start running they'll crack with every step I take, it's been happening to me for as long as I can remember. Strange yes, but fairly common as well...
 
If this can make you feel better, skking is one of the best sport for your ankles. The boot protects it REALLY well, and you still have a comfortable flex so it keeps moving. A friend of mine broke his ankle and after a couple of weeks, his doctor told him that going skiing could only help his ankle to get better. Some will say Tanner broke both on Chad's, but I guess this was a really uncommon impact he had on his both feet, and I don't think any of us will ever get that kind of impact
 
I can crack my big toe on my right foot all the time. Probably from overshoot/undershooting jumps so much and having my toes slam into my boots, cause my boots used to be too big
 
every step i take my ankle has a pretty good crack, cant feel it and it dosent cause me pain, mine resulted from skiing, ive had it for like 2 years and it dosent bother me
 
same here, like a year ago i bent my right wrist back reaaaally far and it killed for like a week. i insisted it was broken but i never got it checked out. now i can crack it whenever i want
 
I was at PT for my knee one day, and my therapist was like "what is that popping?", I was like my ankles, and she was like wheeewww, she thought my knee just blew out again.

but yah mine do it alot too, specially in the morning when I walk up and down the stairs. good to know it happens to all u other fools too.

 
yeah i fucked up my knee straight lineing and catching a edge.every once and a while it hurts so bad i cant walk for a couple hours and it cracks whenever i want.my wrists are also weird but i dont know y.
 
thats interesting. Now that i think of it i could never crack them before skiing. Now if i tighten up my ankel and move it I can make it crack however many times I feel. and when i walk they crack

i think almost everbodys ankles crack and i dont think skiing is really that hard on your ankles compared to other sports because of the fact that your skiboot supports you ankle very well
 
haha yea i can crack mine wenever i want too, but it started happening to me wen i broke my arm and i had a wrist drop. it would feel so sore all the time so i would just push up my wrist wenever it felt like that and it would crack and it would feel so much better
