Ankle problems

Alright, for like the last 5 times I have gone skiing I have had really really bad ankle pains and really bad shin bang on my right ankle/shin. Any suggestions for helping the ankle pains? The pains are on the outside and it only hurts when I go skiing, never any other time. I think it might be slightly sprained? Like a high ankle sprain maybe cause it hurts on the outside and pretty high up? And the shin bang just makes the whole problem worse...

Anyone have any suggestions or advice on how to help it and maybe fix it so it doesn't hurt when I ski?

Damn that sucks, I'm sooo stoked to ski too, just got 3's off tables today and i've been told they look really sick :( Landing backseat kills the ankle though.

Oh well, we'll see how it feels tomorrow and go from there I suppose...

yeaah dude! i think i have the same thing...i took two days off...iced and took a bath yeah i said it...it helped..i went out today and it hurt a little but not nearly as much...

If you have shin bang problems regularly, tighten your boots or get a booster strap. As for the ankle, just stay off it a couple days, take an anti-inflammatory, and ice it and it should get better.

I tried to take a few days off, the last day i skied before today was last thursday. But then again I didn't try to ice it or anything else.

Whats a booster strap? Never heard of 'em...

It's the velcro strap that comes on the top of your boot, except way better. It basically keeps your leg from rocking back and forth in your boot too much, and gives you a lot more ski control in the process.

I haven't had one myself, but from what I heard, they kick ass. And if you're dealing with an ankle/shin injury, it's a lot better in the long run to spend $35 on a booster strap than to have horrible pain all season.

I doubt its cause they are too big, I wear a 9 1/2 shoe and I ride a 26.5 boot and my boots also have a piece of bondo in them which take them down to 25.5

What do you mean by packed out?
