Ankle bone boot pain

ok so just all of a sudden my SPK kreations started to really hurt my ankle bones. It feels like they are bruised and the boots are pushing against the bones of the inside of my ankles. Anybody have an idea on why this is happening and how i can stop it? I tried long and thick socks but they didn't help.

i raced for a while and that used to happen to me, now i have really messed up ankle bones, but anyways i used to bring mine to shop and got them grounded out where my ankle bones are to reduce the irritation

boots are likely too big. so, first step, put your foot in just the shell (no liner) and slide your foot right to the front. check how much room is behind. more than an inch? too big.

once you've got that part figured out, if the ankle's still screwy, my best bet would be a pronating ankle. no arch support means your ankles fall in when you flex. buy footbed, superfeet or aline are both pretty keen. also, doing this regardless is a good idea.

that's all i've got.

Could be a bunch of things going on, but let's just assume you have the right size boot and it matches your width/volume. Even if you have the right shell for your foot, if you do not have a good footbed you can get ankle pain.

A footbed controls the amount of movement your flexible foot has inside a rigid ski boot. So, without a footbed, your ankle is free to flex and move as it would when walking. This can lead to ankle pain.

So, make sure you have a good footbed and your ankle pain will most likely disappear.
