I mean I know we all fucking hate this guy but hopefully getting the help he needs. seemed like he was almost at the point of no return. knew he had issues the first time I hit keystone and saw the way this man skied. wish I didn't look up what enemas were.

This might be good for him, who knows. He has some shitty opinions, but anybody in a mental hospital makes me sad. Hope he gets the help he needs

What a shitty brother but maybe he'll get some hamburgers

Two sides to every story, I'd be willing to bet some info was left out of that post. Could easily see a good brother doing this for somebody he cares about.

sometimes it gets to the point where family look for any legit reason to open a door for help when loved ones can't do it themselves. I can't speak for sure, but it sounds like his brother was using this more as a first step than an angry response

What's funny/fucked is the dude was back home to get the acl surgery he said he'd never need because he'd regrow the acl by fasting. So fucked.

Could be, could have made the whole thing up for that matter

Yeah hopefully he’ll get the help he needs, I know he has some mental problems and went off his meds about the same time he started to believe in some crazy shit. Hopefully he’ll get back to skiing soon, last thing anybody would want is for him to become the next Aidan sheahan

I think that's a bit disrespectful to Aiden. Aiden was grieving for a lost significant other, Ankilla is just crazy.

If I remember correctly, last year his brother and family was trying to reach out to him. Which resulted in ankilla posting all of his private emails and texts with his brother and parents, calling them "drug addict sheep etc. etc." because his brother is a doctor

I agree wholeheartedly, but I don't think denying the extent of the holocaust counts as a shitty opinion. It does seem like he does have some serious problems and I hope he gets the help that he needs. Also having 3 cops arrest him sounds excessive to me.

The health care aystem in this country sucks. Mental health resources even worse. I'd like yo think he's getting good help and stuff but it's a crap shoot. Mental health resources are underfunded at best.

Dude seemed pretty unstable though. Don't know him from outside of NS.

Idk. Would be cool if we invested resources more for people since we're the greatest country in the world or whatever.

so you think ankilla should

cool it with the anti-Semitic remarks?

Just wanted to add that 3 people for restraint in a combative mental patient is pretty much the minimum. If he didn't go willingly, you could sure bet they'd need more. If he wasn't combative, then the extra cops were likely in case he did get antsy. People are surprisingly strong and unless ur just gonna illegally and unethically beat on them, you need a lot of people to safely restrain someone. It's pretty impressive to watch combative patients and staff tussle.

But um yeah I gotta be honest ankilla getting institutionalized has been a long time coming. He's a unique skier and phenomenal artist (like dude should create ski topsheet art-I'd buy it) but his posts here and on insta clearly show he needs psychological help. His treatments and lifestyles were becoming borderline unsafe as well. I know he's gonna read this so let's keep the comments respectable and productive.

Yeah dude, I have bipolar. I’m not crazy, and this kind of narrative really bums me out. It’s okay to seek help, mental illness is a pretty common thing.

I dunno I’ve been to Auschwitz and after seeing some of the stuff they got there denying the extent of the Holocaust sounds like a very shitty opinion. It’s like denying the extend of 9/11, “ooOOoh bro 9/11 wasn’t even that bad prolly only like 15 people died it’s all a conspiracy the governments been exaggerating the numbers to make us hate terrorists more”. denying that kind of stuff is disrespectful

Not trying to defend the rhetoric or be an armchair psychologist, but as someone who personally knew Ankilla before he was Ankilla, he definitely has a lot more going on than just “not taking his meds”. He’s been “fasting” (starving himself) for months and legitimately believes in a ton of erroneous conspiracy theories.

The problem with the holocaust is we had to wrap the whole incident in a blanket of bullshit to cover the fact many US banks and businesses worked with the Nazis. Especially IBM who literally leased and maintained the machine to track the Jews in the camps. That and after WWI we had to make WWII look like a black and white, good vs evil crusade which meant glossing over many details of the atrocities the Allies and the Soviet Union committed or the events leading up to the war. So since the narrative has issues in the first place, it makes it easier to people to poke holes in it and put in theories like it never happened or was overblown etc.

The sad thing is he was actually pretty chill in his last thread where he was going to get his ACL fixed. It seemed like he was more down to let off a little and be part of the NS community.
