so am I the only one who isnt a big fan of it? I was dissapointed in it. The skiing was great, but the editing and soundtrack were lame I thought. The comic thing was sick, but other than that, the segments all lacked something I thought. Take X=Ten, they had olenicks segment with the sick intro, boronowski with the cool artsy thing, it was just a fun movie. WAR just seemed tedious and boring to me. Perhaps it was the soundtrack, or perhaps I just havent watched it enough to fully appreciate it. Or perhaps I'm just comparing it to Wicked and any L1P vid which is unfair. Either way, the best part I thought was "Do you know where I can get the best buffalo wings?" So anyone else agree with me or am I all alone on this one?

I think your a moron but hey i could be wrong... I thought it was a great video shows alot of talent coming up in the industry now and there was some sick camera angles and I liked the soundtrack minus a song or 2 but that happens. I thought it was fun!!

WOAH WOAH WOAH!! I strongly disagree. I thought X was a little tedious, but this had MUCH better editing and flow in my opinion. the soundtrack, I thought was very good and diverse. I thought the skiing was miles beyond last year, what with all the switch in the BC and all the new faces. I give war two thumbs up!

I think it was ok. It definetly wasnt epic, It seemed subpar as far as where skiing should be going. It was no strike 3. SKiing is starting to mellow out now, its gunna be like snowboarding, everyone can do the cab 10s but they dont look nearly as dank as the cab five croutons... you feel me?

Anyway, a gas station we pass. We got gas, and ran off to get grub.It was a nice little pub in the middle on nowhere. Anywhere woulda been better. I ordered enchiladas and I ate 'em, Ali had the fruit punch.

i thought it was really, good, soudntrack was good, and the editing was sick. i did wish tony ahd a mroe artsy section liek last year tho, ith ought that was so sick

i liked the editing, the whole comic was an original idea, and helped the transition between segments flow better

I didn't like the editing either. I think you need to have ADD to appreciate that shit. I have a normal attention span though, so I can't help but notice that Jibtech's meddling detracts from the skiing.

For example:

Pep's last trick . . .

For Christsake, let us see it in its unadulterated, pure form! Don't change the clip speed half way through and then fuck with the color and shit when he's riding out. If you're gonna do that, then let us see the real thing too.

Or candide's big back country natural table hit. Don't split the clip in the take-off and crop out a portion so that it skips forward. Let us see it in its entirety so we can appreciate the flow of the trajectory.

I could go on and on with examples.

The skiing in WAR is sick enough on its own. Don't fuck around with it so much.

Also, how did Chris Benchettler get so big? That guy must know how to network. He's got parts in two major films and he can barely grab his skis. That little indy or safety that he does is worse than Steele Spence's signature saftey mule's kick thing. Those grabs look like the shit you see in skiing magazine.

 
people wouldn't be saying that skiing was leveling out if ski films could separate the wheat from the chaff. Skiing isn't leveling out, there are just tons of pros who aren't pushing the limits, and even those who are pushing it have tons of stock shit in their parts. The problem is the film company, not the skiers.

matt sorry but i couldnt disagree with you more. i feel that WAR had better editing, balance, and stuff than previous pbp movies. only thing i would change is the soundtrack

It was good, maybe not as good as I expected. Everything was kind of short.

Some of the bonus stuff is better than some of the movie.

comic book was sick, but it was only for the intro and transitions. so yea i liked that part, but it didnt make the whole movie sick. and the soundtrack was terrible I thought.

it was much better than X. The comic book thing was cool too. I just thought it was over-edited, and I agree, the parts felt short. Pep's part was sick but it was over too fast.
