Angry skiers on the hill, stories welcome.

Yesterday roomie and I pull up to the lower lot at timberline and park next to where you ride out. Were sitting getting our gear on when a older guy skis up and immediately tells my buddy to move his car away from his to another spot in the parking lot "because I don't want snowboarders and skiers hitting my car walking through the lot, your car is way to close" mind you with the door wide open there was still a half foot gap between us. So I tell him politely absolutely not there's a massive parking lot you chose to park here move your car if you don't want people close to you. He flips the fuck out saying how were dick heads and since he has his boots on that we have no respect for him. At this time a couple boarders a few cars up start yelling at him as well telling him to chill the hell out. He keeps raging and we explain to him how its absurd to ride up to the parking lot and tell someone to move their car but he is red in the face with all logic out the window so I try to de escalate it by telling him "sorry that you're upset man, respect gets respect I hope you have a good day skiing and cheer up, put a smile on have some tacos and a beer enjoy yourself" that spurted a long train of obscenities and angry arm waving as he stormed off to go click in again.

I seriously don't understand how some people can be such dicks on the hill. I ride to get away from drama like that and problems in everyday life its really irritating when you go to ride and have some dad going nuclear over nothing at all. Has anyone else had to deal with irate older folks on the hill? Share your stories.

One time I rode up the the lift and the line was crazy long, saw an opening right and the front of the fence and figured why not I'll go for it and hop in here. Couple minutes go by and nobodies said anything then suddenly I hear this guy start shouting Russian behind me, turn around and he starts yelling at me with a crazy think Russian accent about skipping the line. Told him there was no need to freak out, proceeded to go all the way around the line and hop in the singles. Ended up on the same chairlift as him and his three buddies. Truly thought I was about to get pushed off the whole way up. Moral of the story: don't cut Russians in line

Its strange ive straight up run into peoples kids on the bunny hills because I wasnt paying attention and the parents were fine but once we get into the park shit turns into a crisis

the worst is when a gaper freaks out when you try and explain the jumps before rails aren't made for going off the side all day

Yesterday was Wednesday and should not have been busy at all. If that happened yesterday the dude is pure wack. Usually on a busy day there isn't room for people to even open their door open fully and people have to pack in because there are more cars than actual parking spaces. Most people are chill and I feel a little bad for the guy because he is obviously not in a good head space. Getting the chance to park mere feet from an amazing run is a beautiful thing. It's so wack that someone would be so aggravated there of all places.

happens alot I posted in another thread about how if we all spent 2 minutes being nice to the families in the park and explain why its not safe and ruins the park usually they leave or ask where the baby park is and some still freak out then you just say keep your eyes out for others be safe and just ski away. Also funny thing I believe a snowboarder got pushed off the lift last week for talking too much shit haha.

That's what I'm saying he just seemed super pissed for no reason, and that's another great point one of the only west coast places you can ski in and out of the resort to your car. How could he not expect people to park near him when he is right at the side of the run out lol.

Happens a lot at my home hill. Crowded weekend lots of jerrys, and Anthonys (NYC accent jerrys) Crusing through blues warming up or cooling down and the whole fucking family of gapers decide to stop abruptly right in front of me making it impossible to ski past them on any part of the trail. me being just 5 feet behind them at the time I accidentally have one of my skis ski over his. I get yelled at a lot for stupid shit like this. (Yes I acknowledge that I shouldn't be so close to others but this only happens when Im trying to get around them as they are going so slow)

I agree to add another story, one day bottom of pucci no other lift running 3 lines all have 200 or so in each line. Singles is pretty much empty so I skate past 400 people to about 30 from the front. Here comes skier dad and his family bitching us out and telling us to go to the end of the line, he leaves the line to chase us. Long story short we got ahead of 500 people thanks to singles and watched a dad go catastrophic meltdown when he was forced to go to the end of the line lol.

Some dude was raging at me for going too fast and that my twin tips sprayed him with snow. He also said that when he tried to pass me, I cut him off. I reminded him that downhill skier has right of way and he fucking lost it. We ditched him and didn't see him again.

I was going down a very open run that has alot of rollers that are perfect to pop off of. I was probably going about 45 mph and did a basic spread eagle off one of the rollers... Some kid ate shit right behind me. His crash was totally unrelated to me, he caught an edge and went down. I heard the crash and screaming so i stop to see what happened and this old dude in an 80's era fart bag just started going off on me. He was cussing me out about how I was going too fast and acting irresponsible etc. etc. He then proceeded to threaten to take my pass. So I calmly explained to him that the kid fell on his own. He wouldn't have it. He flagged down a patroller and tried to frame me for cutting this kid off. It took about 20 minutes of explaining for the patroller to realize this old dude was wrong. The patroller tge n proceeded to threaten to take the old dudes pass... The whole rest of the day that old dude was cutting me off.

I got legit punched in the face by this 45 year old man for accidentally ridding over his wife skis. After saying sorry he just wouldn't stop yelling. So i started calling him a pansy basically. He just fucking wound up and suckered me in the face. I was so shocked i just like stood there haha. I was 17 at the I'm so a few years ago. If i was smarter at the time i should have charged him for assault haha. I had a hole that almost went through my lip.

damn son not the top sheets! Haha that blows though, reminds me of when a kid got his jaw broken by a ski boot at the bottom of the run for talking shit to people on the run lol

yesterday I was hauling down from the summit of Gunstock so I could get to the park lift, was keeping as far away from the slower people on the mountain as I could. Got down closer to the base where some of the Blacks merge with blues and greens and was coming up fast on two younger girls, called skier on the right pretty loud to no avail and then tapped my poles together to get their attention. Had a safe distance between them so I went to pass. The older of the two girls cut over to pass coming in pretty close to me, so I just yelled "heads up" so she didn't smoke me or get smoked. Got down to the base and this older guy kept eye balling me then came up to me and took off his goggles and said "did you pass my daughter's up on such and such trail?" So I said yeah I just said skier righ-" he cut me off then kept saying "we're you uphill skier" he wasn't furious but he wanted to make sure I knew damn well that I have to yield for them and that what I did wasn't right. I get that by the skiers code I wasn't right but atleast check over your shoulder before you cut all the way across the trail to pass someone

Early season killington, I was hiking a rail with some friends. A snowboarder was approaching and proceeded to hit the rail. Behind him came a gaper skier dad who stopped on the lip of the kicker screaming "are u fucking kidding me? I was gonna hit that jump!" He skied down to the snowboarder and started pushing him and screaming at him. My friends and I were dying of laughter talking about how much hang time he would've got.

In alll my years ive only saw one fight on the hill and the boarders looked like complete idiots so I ride by call them gapers and sprayed em aha
