I was up at White Pass, WA today with my son and we ran into Andy Mahre. My son has a signed poster from him that he got when Andy was signing at our local showing of Warren Miller's movie a couple years back. I pointed out that Andy was there and asked my son if he would like to meet him. I don't know Andy, but I approached him and asked if he wouldn't mind introducing himself to my son and he more than gladly obliged. In fact we spent 15 minutes or so chatting about his career and he hooked us up with a couple autographed posters.

he slays in the sickest way possible. i like his style in the mountaineering sense of the word. he is all steeze in the park and really unleashes in the backco. a true skier
 
yeh yeh ... that shot in the photo annual of Freeskier that 180 off the 10 footer and then opposite half cab of that like 30 foot cliff was like the sickest thing ive seen of fa double drop ever... thats teh future shit liek that snowboard kidna stuff butters into pillow lines and presses on pillows and andy and Pep and pollard are gods at that there movie with Iberg this year I believe will be the best newschool ski video of all time... and Andy Shreds big moountain he has the potential to be the next seth., and he slides rails like not other and he skis switch better than anyone even Turpin...
 
What the fuck is all this? Andy rules, period. He's an essential part of the Idea triumvir ant, and has led the switch powder skiing revolution, along with Pep and Pollard.
 
andy revolves progression by not holding poles its soooooo cooooool, i always want to go no poles in the morning because andy does it but i get nervous and bring them anyway.

The cool thing is he's down to earth. He went out of his way, (about to sit down and hang out with his buddies) to accommodate my request. He didn't just shrug it off. By doing that I am sure he has inspired my kid and will inspire others.

^i just went into your profile and read all that. that's so sick that you rip with your kids. keep them watching ski movies and watching skiers so they know that it's cooler than snowboarding and then you're kids will stick to it. probably the biggest reason people don't ski is cuz they think it's dumb and lame looking but as long as your kids see the movies and watch people they'll stay stoaked on it.
 
alot of pros are friendly, i hate how people think they are cocky douchebags and stuff cuz they really arent
 
forsure. those dudes are taking skiing where it needs to go. super chill, super steezie, and all over the mountain.
