i have no problems wiht a person not using poles. i need them though... i used to not use them but then i picked a pair up and used them and now i cant ski without them because my balance is so far off

how the fuck do you know what the 'right direction' is? you obviously have no idea... and you read an interview about pollard saying he likes poles. well, he uses them again. so what. if any of you were riding at hood this summer, you would have seen him without. and after his first run down the pipe without...the first thing he said to me was...i forgot how fun that is. so do what ever you want. i ski with or without poles. if you dont like it, then that sucks for you. if using poles is what makes you cool, then id rather be a loser.

without poles you can work on style, like in pipe no poles can help you keep your arms Mellow... so you get used to it... then once you got poles then your good to go

Props to Andy for doing what he wants with his skiing. Im surprised theres not more people without poles. I mean what do you really need them for in the park? Ive skied some without poles and I had fun. Its a totally diffrent feeling. I bet in the future more and more kids are gona ditch there poles. I can see how it would be awsome for your grabs to not use poles for awhile too.

Andy is honestly one of the skiers in the world, and he can out ski everyone of you, even with out poles, so chill out and let the kid do what he wants, hes just having fun, just like the rest of you, so dont rip on him for choosing something different.

It just goes to attest to his ability, that he doesnt need to use polls and can still kick all of our asses. I dont think that you would think it was that bad of style not to use them, if you where talented egnough to ski without them.

you guys are pathetic. the kid skis the way he wants and progresses the way he wants. it seems to work for him because if you have ever seen him ski he is straight up good. unlike the majority of you that wear your puffy coats with fur hoods and hang your rags from your ass you people focus on looks and image more than the actual skiing. andy does not and that is why he is so good

Its not much harder to ski without poles, its just odd visually, the poles kinda visually balance the long skinny proportions of the skis. i know that sounds crazy , but its true,

its alot like looking at a left hand guitar, whether your left or right handed, it looks odd.

for the record, andy is sick. everyone agrees. so why is this up for discussion? more specifically, your newschoolers forum discussion, ridiculous in itself. for the record, andy WILL go places. poles/no poles will not determine his 'hugeness' as you say.

on another note. if you saw someone with no toes or no eyebrows you would say WOAH weird gross odd not right. BUT if EVERYONE was born that way you wouldn't think twice about it.
