Andy Mahre Is Skiing's Next Truly Great Skier

maybe its just me, but i find it a little unrealistic to compare two skiers' athleticism from different generations of our sport. who's to know how good andy mahre's father would've been if he had been exposed to and had the opportunities to "freeski". its hard to get good at something that doesnt really exist yet.

this was a pretty dope response to something posted on the internet saying hes gonna be the next ski "god" few have reached this platform. Andys an amazing skier, his style in war is insane and the fact that he 270s onto a rainbow rail almost made me shit my pants thats by far the most tech rail you could spin a 270 onto, his parts in war and the msp movie were sick. He has the potential to be one of the greatest of all time, he has amazing talent and the zero spin and Fakie 5's (there is no switch in skiing switch means switch stance there is no natural or Goofy stance in skiing there fore no switch) were amazing the 180 of that huge cliff were beyond sick, he is almost on the same level as Pep and he will be soon, he will continue on his family legacy and keep going to the top. 2 things though 1) i hate seing people ski with no poles BUT andy does it well i must admmit him and pollard look really good while doing it, the 2nd thing is K2 , k2s a sick company but they Underpay there athletes Seth dont make shit, pep doesnt make nearly enough to justify throwing down as hard as he does and nor im sure does Andy you guys (seth,Pep, Andy and get Chris booth on the team for some downunder flare) and start your own ski company Seths name alone will let you guys surpass any of these so called new Core companys and with Andys race knowlege im sure you guys could make some dope skis. But anyways Andys fukin sick so is pep so is Seth, But candide and Seb Michaud are better than all of you.

to be honest, his segment in war is my favourite one in that vid.

just because i havent heard of him before, and then this seggie: zero, 5 and 1 over pyramids, awesome skier, def. a guy with huge potential within the next years
 
Andy is one of the best. Hes an amazing skier, and started the no poles craze, and doesnt flail to all hell like most do when trying no poles.

I have never seen anyone land things switch (and ski them out) as well as Andy did in that movie. Dear God.
 
I disagree, I think andy is REALLY good like insane but I think that the next level is stil waiting and someone is going to break things wide open. Andy's switch stuf in the bc is Good some of the best, but not mental it doesn'tmake me go AHHHH WTF WAS THAT. Its a shame because if anyone remember Belleveaus TGR segemnt I would say it still beat over Andy's ski porn. Now had he stompped that switch front. That would have been like absurd. But anyway I think that Thovex is up there, along with Mike Wilson,and mebbe some guys we don't know yet.
 
Gotta remember thovex is still young tho, he has a long way to go I mean he is like probably over 10 years younger then morrison?(thats a guess) and morrison is still going bigger. so I mean wilson is young, and he has been dabbling more into doubles. Style is good, but at somepoint things are going to have to get bigger and I think style with doubles is on the way.
 
your an idiot mike wilson is so fucking good. he kills everything with style he just has a tendency to go really fucking big which is not a bad trait it just gets him hurt a lot.

and whoever thinks andy has the best switch landings in ski porn needs to watch pollard on the helly site. ive seen both and pollard does things that i dont even really have words to describe.

that said, andy is really fucking goood too.

Yeah, pollard's shit was pretty unbelievable too. But I've never been super impressed with mike wilson.
