Andy mahre broke his back???

ya i guess he was shreddin at breckenridge and they had built this massive hip/quarter pipe combo thing and i hear that he was side slipping into it really fast and caught his edge and just started to cartwheel a bunch.

i might have to go up to him while im at high north and give him a nice hard pat on the back and wish that he gets better

aw- boo...and word to someone above, ive been hearin a lot about broken backs too...maybe this is a sign that the progression of skiing is going a bit fast?

u can get a traverse something fracture to a vertebrea and it isnt serious. I had one this winter. Its still a broken back but only a wing breaks and it isnt affected by pressure. You're only out for like a month. But i wish mahre the best, he's a dope rider

im pretty well healed up. as stated above, it was from a high speed side slipping incodent. broke my T6 and T7. ive been out of my brace for a little while now. slowly getting back into shape...(my poles woulda punched out my eyes i bet....)

haha yeah it sounds like he's doing alright if he's feisty enough to make cracks about poles, hope you're able to get back at it soon dude. Edge catching incidents are the worst, my worst bail this year was a high speed fakie to forward revert gone horribly wrong.

either that or there are just too many dumb kids attempting stuff they can't do. (and this post does not pertain to the pros out there who got broke, i respect them fully. it's all the other little yahoos that irk me)

random question for andy here...you in the intro to "subject to change" by any chance? alley oop 7 in the pipe maybe?

yeah i got fucked reverting from switch this season too, cause i was using my BC ski's and the edges are so much sharper. that hurt alot, luckily i didnt fly into the woods.

how do you think pro's get so good? By trying dumb shit. Some people have more talent and get away with it, and others don't.

i caught an edge and did a cartwheel on that thing too. but i did it when it was closed and i didnt see the 4 feet high mound of ice from the cat at the base of hte feature....
