My god... this is so sad... That guy was an absolute legend, and the only dude to ever have Kelly Slater's number in competitions...
And he died of Dengue Fever? Why the hell didn't he go straight to the hospital as soon as he made it to Dallas!

Contracted Dengue Fever in either Portugal or Puerto Rico.
Flew from Puerto Rico to Dallas en route to Kauaii.
Was deemed too sick to fly in Dallas, so he missed his connection flight to Hawaii.
checked into a hotel room.
was found dead today in his room...

Wow, i have never followed surfing, but have always thought it would be the most amazing sport out there. That video "Andy Iron-Why I Surf" inspired me to try surfing the next time i get the opportunity. Andy seemed like a great man, RIP.
And yes, that was rip in peace.
