Andorra?

I've been noticing a few incredible deals for holidays to Andorra recently, stuff like £99 (like 150 usd) for flights (from the UK), accommodation and transfers. Has anyone actually been there? Was it any good? Which resorts do you recommend? I kinda worry that the low prices are low for a reason.
 
i went there a couple a times when i was younger, everything is crazy cheap, (no tax and all that) aslong as the snow is good its ok, arinsal has an ok park, assuming you go once its all set up, (probably not till febuary odd) but there will be rails and stuff if you go there earlier...
 
I was there a couple Octobers ago. Not for skiing though. Some of the terrain looks unreal, 90% of the time all I could do was imagine skiing all these epic lines you can see from the roads. There also seems to be a large amount of terrain that the ski resorts cover, and they're all linked together like some other Euro resorts.

Unfortunately they really don't get enough snow to make it epic as it could be. And apparently the snow they get isn't the greatest quality, very dense.

A beautiful place though. Unfortunately I found most of the people to be dicks and is almost worse than Spain for hitch hiking.
 
im doing a season here. arcalis (part of vallnord) is the best resort, they get the most/best snow and it has great offpiste terrain, lift accesible. For park I'd go to Grandvalira, I think. Right now there is not much snow though and it's been like this for a bit.
 
Been there late season-ish (mid-March), it's a good 3-hour bus ride from Barcelona Airport, and the snow situation tends to be hit-or-miss.

I stuck to Granvalira (sp?), although the resorts are all linked to each other and extend across one-third of the country. The nightlife and restaurants seem to be in Pas de la Casa, at the French border, and after dark, you need taxis and such to get around from place to place. Price-wise, certainly cheaper than the Alps, I think the skiing / riding can be potentially good, but like all places, it's best to hook up with a local who knows where the good stuff is.

Oh, and duty-free everything, just about. If you want to buy clothes / liquor / ciggys in Europe without the high prices, Andorra's the place to get it. English not widely spoken (although that's changing quickly), bring some knowledge of Spanish / Catalan or French. Bring Euros.
