You guys remember the dude that killed like 70+ people in Norway? Well before he did it he published a 1500 page manifesto called A European Declaration of Independence. In it he calls for the expulsion of cultural marxism and believes that political correctness is akin to cultural marxism.

It's really interesting to read because through the entire manifesto you think oh this guy killed like 75 people, and then you keep reading and realize he's completely sane. He's not a delusional psychotic, he's incredibly rational and logical. That's all I'm going to say about this, but I'll let you guys discuss. Thought it was pretty interesting.

i feel like anyone who uses violence as a simple method to communicate ideas has something off. he seems to think that violence and militant communities are the only true way of getting his ultra-nationalist points across. he is clearly not rational if he cannot empathize with the victims of his violence, and rather sees people and the murdering of people as political tools. he is rational in the same way hitler, stalin, and pol pot were rational. empathy is a cornerstone of rationalism and the human condition, and gunning down 77 teenagers no matter what 'motive' demonstrates a clear lack of his faculty to understand empathy.
 
he was bragging earlier about his education, but it turned out that a majority of all his knowledge was from reading on Wikipedia.

He claimed to be able to fly airplanes, but his skills from that he had learned from a few youtube clips.

I think a guy who kills more than 70 people, most of them teenagers, because of their political ideology and wouldnt hesitate to do it again can ever be referred to as "completely sane".

But yeah, maybe my meter is broken.
 
Only difference is that he was not clever enough to get the masses to fall in line with his ideology.
 
That remains to be seen, there are large student groups in Russia preaching the same things as him. He even praises them.
 
I'll give it a serious look.

The fact stands that too often folks like these are discounted just for being violent. Violence is simply an alternate approach, and whether or not you agree with it shouldn't cloud your views on that person's ideas. I mean, most of the same people that would discount Breivik for his violence are those that would so readily defend the coercive, violent state as legitimate. That's an obvious flaw in logic.

I'm not an advocate of violence against innocent people, as Breivik's acts were. Violence against property is a much more logical stretch if any violence is to be used at all. If it MUST be used against humans, it should be those leading the present tyrannies and unabashedly defending the status quo through action, not just ideals.

Look at Kaczynski, he's an excellent example. He is an incredibly intelligent individual who happened to be way ahead of his time, and unfortunately allowed his actions to be guided by anger. His use of violence is not something I'd defend, however, if you can sit down and actually read Industrial Society and its Future and tell me that he's "crazy", you're on some other shit. I believe that his ideas that we must carry out a revolution against the use of industrial technology are legitimate, and it's time to begin an open dialogue on the technology problem.

Before flaming my post, I suggest sitting down and actually reading ISAIF and systematically breaking down his points. In fact, I suggest everyone at least take a look at it. It's 33 pages for fucks sake..

You cant trap people on an island and go on a "wild goose chase" dressed as a police officer for more than an hours time without there being something wrong with you.

I think all off the things he did were very strategicly planned, and sure that would take some brains but i think his sanity can be questioned.

I was 500 meters away from the blast, and it was really weird to have been there actually, so unexpected nobody knew anything about what had happened untill you saw it on the news later. Just felt a shockwave and heard a very loud bang, when i was waiting for my bus to Sweden.
 
haha, sane? i'm only on page 20, and this guy is a fuckin nut ( also he's irrationally paranoid and racist). though he does make some interesting points on political correctness.
