And the newest member of Nike 6.0 is.....

nah dood he's fuckin built..i read some interview w/ him in freeskier like 2 seasons ago and he one punched some guy to the ground who was tlakin shit about his friend and the guy was like 3x's the size of dumont

You know, for all those who hate Dumont thats cool. Just remember what he and many other pro skiers are doing for our sport. you have to repsect the kid for that reason. I am not saying I hate the kid or like him. Im just saying hes doing too much for our sport to hate on the kid.

woaahhhh there, in later simon news, i actually saw someone in a car with an empire sticker on ther truck driving around wareham, ma... i chuckled

honestly that makes simon more of a tool, not the fact that he could, but that he most likely would if you said anything mean to him. fighting's fucking gay, its for football players, wrestlers and hicks.

and simon is an ass hole, ive seen him probably 15 days this past season and almost every day he was yelling shit at people, hating on kids with no poles, and just being a tool.
though there was one day when he was next to me in the lift line and said "hey whats up" all nice to me, and i had no pole's. it was confusing cause like 2 weeks eariler he said something like "why dont you just snowboard" when he saw me without poles. so im confused.
still though 99% of the time ive seen him he was being an ass.

not selling out at all dood nike is probably like the greatest sponsor u could have cause they are so fuckin huge and wealthy

ill never buy another pair of nikes, and dumont is a little midget so im pretty sure everyone over the age of 8 could kick his ass

no offense. i don't see how your orange, they are supposed to be legit industry figures and with that statement and attitude it makes me want to completely stay away from your company. you should ask a little more professional.

so your saying that every "legit industry figure" has to pretend that dumonts a cool guy and that hes not the most cocky person ever? you need to relax

hey dude, some people think that but they don't act like an idiot about it... sure personally i don't love everything dumont does. but i dont say shit like " any 8 year olld could beat him up" and that "ill never buy nike shoes again" not the most rational thinking ever.

Dumont is one of the biggest names in our sport, he's brining more people into freeskiing, getting us more attention and a deal with nike is huge, if nike begins developing skiing products we can expect to see some really high performance gear, this part of progression, unfortunately some see it as selling out. I find that kind of lame sure he signed with a big name company, but he's a big name too. Tons of other professional athletes have signed with nike, and nike continues to make great products for those sports.

Nike is a big company yes, but nothing about their business strikes me as particularly shady, they started out small like any company does and grew through strategic marketing, and developing products that speak for themselves. Alot of the nike products i've used are just far superior to alot of other brands, I'm a big fan of the Nike Skateboarding program, not only do there shoes look great, there also extremely comfortable, and last through a beating.

i know what your saying, and i agree nike skateboarding is really dope, however i want nothing to do with dumont and i know that hes probably one of the biggest names in skiing but if i could choose who would represent freeskiing it would NOT be dumont...

how is he selling out im sure anybody on this site would ski for Nike its not like he came from some tiny little rider built company

thats what i am saying if anybody was in his position they would do the same thing. its such a good opportunity and i sure he is getting paid well

selling out? no. not in the least. Former CB resident and Nike 6.0 team manager riley poor is also Dumont's personal videographer. Good friends work well together. It's quite simple. I do the same with my sponsors, i switched over just for the fact that a personal friend got a job with a ski company and knew i could and would work well with him. and it's been great ever since. so, good for dumont. and i don't see how anyone could possibly hate on him, he is beyond sick and does so much for our sport. as for hating on no poles, keep it up. All you no polers do is make us look pathetic. Do you ever see a snowboarder with poles? yes, quite pathetic. case closed, kids.

yeah its great we can all take heart in nikes non shady business practices knowing that there stuff
is made by the most skilled 8 year olds malaysia can provide, its great they work long hours and only for a few cents so we get cheap stuff!!!!

poles are for fags

why does everyone hate dumont anyway? sure he might not spin to the right but is that really any reason to show so much hate.

It's an unfortunate ugly human characteristic to bash those at the "top", they are easy targets for the disgruntled to focus their own ________ (fill in the blank) towards.

i really dont understand why people hate on him. sure he might be an ass sometimes but i garentee most of you guys are asses to people on the hill some of the time and he is sick at skiing. also i dont get how "selling out" is a ;bad thing. if someone offered you a huge contract you would deny it because "im so core". fucking bullshit hes one of the beset and he gets payed a lot casue he has big name sponsors.

Good, Dumont kills it, cocky or not and with the exposure he brings for us is awesome. I think it's a great thing for Nike to pick him up.

yeah dumont doesnt even represent freeskiing at all, he only represents himself cause thats all he cares about.
but seriously, dumont may represent like .000001 percent of skiers, there are many better skiers to rep our sport, hell it might be a bad thing that freeskiing is associated with him.

i don't particurally like either of them... i don't hate them either, it's whatever for me.

they are sick skiiers and and do nothing but good things for the SPORT, not it's image

personally, i don't care if the sport gets recognition or not, i'm still going to be doing my thing regardless of how much it's on tv. however, when i tell someone i am a freeskiier and snowboarder, i'd prefer for them to think of someone other than those two, who's a little bit more classy, smart, and/or down to earth, just like i wouldn't want someone to think Barry Bonds and steriods when i tell them i play baseball.

Honestly, who cares what Dumont's personality is like? He's arguably the most recognizable skier this side of Tanner Hall...whether we think it's cool or not, Simon breaking records, appearing on Ellen, signing with Nike is great for us. The way I see it, we're one step closer to Vancouver '10, weekly network tv contests, and EA Freeskier.

Are there other skiers I'd like to see waving the flag for us? Sure...unfortunately those guys don't podium in everything, boost 30 +, and start companies. Plenty of people kill it, very few parlay that into other opportunities or market themselves as effectively as Simon. Good for him, good for us, d-bag or not.

P.S. After suffering through the A.I. and T.O. eras of professional Philadelphia sports, I've become an expert at seperating an athlete's talent from personality.
