analog video transfer

i don't have a digital camera, just a shitty hi8. does anyone know what transfer wire/box/card or whatever can put analog video onto the comp and keep decent quality?

If you have a firewire connection, you can use a firewire card.

If you don't have a firewire connection, you can use a transcoder/bridge depending on your budget. Dazzle makes a pretty inexpensive one...just make sure its compatable with your software.
