An Update on Kony

yeah i saw this and have read some stuff saying that a fair amount of the money Invisible Children sends to Uganda actually goes to the Ugandan gov't... not going to debate whether thats a good or bad thing but it sure isn't what they are showcasing
 
My friends blindly believe in this bullshit it pisses me off. I'm all for a good cause but people profiting from children's suffering (past) is fucked.
 
good points although invisible children never ACTUALLY said what the funds were going towords. Getting the word out =/= solving the problem, as most people think.

That said, i think they definitely could have done more helping but at least they have brought lots of attention to the matter. Now shit can get done, although if this video and anymore with similar points are made public, maybe what needs to be done is totally different than what we thought.

Its an interesting conundrum what with the Al Quada (sp) issue being brought up
 
There's so much misinformation on both sides it's ridiculous. Don't blindly believe the cause, but don't jump on any unreliable criticism just so you can act smarter than your friends.
 
This is very true. But it would make sense that kony hawk is dead considering he had been in a very dangerous situation for 22 years. And the government in Uganda IS beyond fucked.
 
How come when Dumbledore gets a child army, its ok, but as soon as we find out a black guy has one, shit hits the fan?

yea but you see the thing is that most charities usually don't have a bunch of negativity unless that charity is doing something sketchy...
 
Who cares if he is profiting from it. It is his job. The dude made an awesome video that got a lot of peoples attention. I think its cool the response that he is getting from it. I am all for change and if that video changes something then cool. If not then that is cool too. I am not going to donate or anything like that, because i feel as if we have way to many problems in America to be worried about others. I know that might make me sound like a dick but its the way I feel. I feel bad for the kids and that guy needs to be stopped, but let them deal with it, and let our government deal with getting these damn gas prices down.
