an interesting question

I was asked by a friend the other day why I rock the twin tips. and I said I like skiing better than snowboarding and since twins are the best thing since pow days, I stuck with skiing. Then he asked me this...'suppose I was interested in learning how to ski, why should I want to learn?'

I told him that snowboarding is just as cool as skiing and he should do what he likes....but the question remains......what does skiing have that would make snowboarders want to learn how to ski?

you know.. i dont find that very interesting at all.. just a point.

harvey, harvey, harvey. cant you see? sometimes your words just hypnotize me?

You just have to do what you like, i ride with a snowboarders in the park most of the time, and i don't try to make them ski, cuz i know they love snowboarding, and they don't try to make me snowboard cuz they know i love skiing, it all matters what you like.... also, it'd be a big hassle to learn how to snowboard now, cuz i've been skiing since i was 4, and i'm just used to it, it'd be very frustrating to learn something all over again

cuz on skis you go faster, bigger, and with way more steeze. it just looks cool with skis and poles and good outfit

because the reason boarding became popular was because it was something new and different than the rest... but now that skiing has reached the point of tricks and that its the new and different thing to do and he should just join the fad and be cool like us

my snowboarder friends all say that they would rather see a skier do a 360 w/ a grab then a boarder because it looks cooler. its tough to convert though. we got one boarder last year and he rides on dynastars now. pretty good. no defining style yet but he goes big.

Yeah, i think a lot of people just do what is cool at the time. And frankly, its harder to learn how to snowboard than to ski. Not everyone will admit it, but snowboarding is harder. (unless you have a background in surfing or skateboarding, etc). And, i think as the amount of newschool skier grows, more and more people will start to respect us and convert. Tricks on skis look sooo much sicker.

dude i dont know about that. i would say learning to snowboard is harder the first week, but skiing is harder in the long run.

Well, i hadn't gone very far snowboarding before i decided it was gay and went to skiing. So, i can't say for sure about that. But i do know that rails are WAY harder for skiers to do and that certain tricks have got to be easier on boards.

If you already have the basics down for one, why start over and try to learn a whole new thing, there is no way I would ever start snowboarding, even though I love it, and think it is the sickest thing ever, because I already ski. But if I hadn't done either before in my life, I dont know which one I would chose.

Transitioned from a board for this year, I like how skiers look in the park(actually have style, never seen a guy riding one plank in a tall t), I like the community (y'all are aight), and more people at my local ski park

Like I can make a meaningful response to a fifteen year old thread OP is probably dead lol

If you wanna get into just park, probably snowboard, if you want to get into the tight trees and bc probably skiing

You can hit so much more terrain skiing, there is more potential for more complex tricks etc.

it looks way cooler cause you don’t have flailing arms

cause you got NS

cooler brands like moment n onthreep

you can go faster

you don’t get fucked on traverses
